A shiver of unease ran down Blossom's spine at the sight of HIM's smile. He was almost always smiling, but there was something about this grin that just did not sit right with Blossom. "What are you planning?" she demanded, doing her damnedest to keep her voice from quavering with the fear she felt. "Wait, a minute. 'Our realm'?" Good God, who else was in on this?
"Hmm. Why is she just standing their?" Zim said as he reached for his other laptop and pulled up the satellite imagery site. He typed in his override code and messed with a satellite that was passing over head.
"Hmm well seems that she is talking with... oh no... its HIM." Zim said with a groan and shut out of the system and checked the GPS location and hopped in his Porsche. Having an almost 7 figure salary helped a whole lot, not to mention when people owed him favors it also helped to get such a nice car.
"Come on Gir we have places to go and a friend of ours may need some help." he said as he typed the some codes into an onboard computer and this activated a few of the features that he had shut down on.
"Blossom in trouble?" Gir asked currently being in one of his smart modes.
"Looks that way." Zim said as the car was pulled up from the lab and he headed out close to Blossom's location.
"Lets hope some of the add ons to this car actually work like they are suppose to." Zim muttered as they headed towards downtown.
I'm not a nazi!... I'm a hamster with food in my cheeks!
~*Him before Blossom*~ "I'm not planning anything..." he said with a soft sigh, sending the smallest bloom of dust up into the air. "God, why do you brats always assume I'm trying to destroy the world!?" He said, his voice rising in tone and anger with his last sentence. "Now, is that all you wanted, do you wish to return to your sobbing now?"
Blossom was numb. She thought aloud, only half speaking to HIM. "I don't understand. If you're not behind this, then Bubbles is acting of her own accord? But why? I know I wasn't the best sister, but was it really enough to drive Bubbles to...? Oh, God..." The waterworks before had been mostly an act, but now, raw emotion escaped from Blossom in silent tears that coursed down her muddy cheeks.
Brick cocked an energy bow at Him, and let fire, creating a smoldering crater where the face used to be. "Enough of that prick. He's not in this, and now we've got a leaky faucet." He said gruffly, stealing a look at Blossom. Brick huffed and shoved his hands into his pockets, then walked a few feet away from the group.
"Wish I could remember how to get to His realm..I'd much rather fight daddy number two than those powerpunks anyways.. Max." Brick half called to the FBI agent, "Can you find where the powerpunks went? I figure custody is better than sending them back home, for now."
Max shook his head. "We don't have a fix on any of their cellphones - don't even know if they have cellphones. And we don't have any tracking devices on them."
Jules chimed in. "You wouldn't have any idea where they are, would you, RowdyRuff? Hotels or apartments or anything? Even which way Brat took Berserk might help."
Brick pointed back towards the woods. "But knowing them, they'd probably pull some zig-zag shit to throw us off thier trail. And thier energy signatures are too faded to track anymore."
Brick thought for a moment, trying to siphon some clue from his fight with Berserk.
Need... X..
"Max! Do you know anywhere around here that has a store of chemical X?"
Max thought for a moment. "The closest place would be the FBI Midwest Research Centre." He turned to Jules. "Where exactly is it."
"Just outside of Omaha, sir," Jules offered. "But that's three states over and, while not top secret, not advertised at all. Would the PowerPunks even know about it?"
((Yes, Megaville is a generic Midwest city just like every other superhero city. ))
Blossom heard everything as if underwater. Only one thing cut through. Chemical X. "She's going to try to get her powers back. God, what'll she do then? We'll have to beat her to it. But what if she actually doesn't know about it and follows us? Then it will be our fault..."
Blossom's voice dissolved into whispered mutterings. She felt overwhelmed. There was so much, so much she was responsible for. And it was all on her shoulders. Even Brick, a self-proclaimed hero who was trying to help, was one of her duties. Were he to loose it again, it would be Blossom's fault for not stopping him.
There was too much. Just too much. Blossom needed help. Blossom needed her sisters. What had happened to the PowerPuff Girls?
"Might I ask how it would be our fault?" Zim asked as he turned off the car and stepped out after taking the keys out of the ignition.
"Awww don't cry." Gir said in his normal robotic voice since he was back to his normal self, if you could call being random and crazy the whole time normal.
I'm not a nazi!... I'm a hamster with food in my cheeks!
"Well, any chemical labs besides your research center? I mean, a freelance scientist could easily get a shipment of the stuff, and would be more than willing to help out the girls."
"If there were any freelancers who recieved shipment they got it off the black market." Zim said checking his PDA.
"That chemical, I'm taking that you are refering to Chem X, is monitored, all shipments and recieving parties are checked and screened. So far no freelancers have recieved shipments in the past year and those who have gotten it say they have used it all up or have returned what they didn't need."
I'm not a nazi!... I'm a hamster with food in my cheeks!
"Still, I feel like we should leave someone here. If we're wrong, someone can at least get the X to a safe place while they wait for our return."
"I'll stay!" Bunny said, waving her arms as she came back over a hill.
"Perfect! Bunny can stay, while w head off to the research center. We have a bit of time over them, they still have to get thier act together, but not much leeway. And if they are heading out there, we can't fly, they'll know what we're up to.
Brick was still uncertain. He couldn't read minds, and they could always deviate from the plan he was laying out for them.
Brat raced through the air, clutching her sister tightly. She had grown pale, and Brat knew that flying like this with a 'normal human' couldn't be good. Casting a quick look behind her, she slowed her pace. Eyeing her sister, she sighed in relief when a bit of color began to return to her face.
Thank goodness.....
Flying at a steadier pace now, he felt her mind call out for Bubbles. The connection was felt instantly, but something was off.
Bubbles...I have her, you have to follow me....can you find me?
She felt something else buzz in her head.
Why don't you come visit me, I do so long to see you...
She wanted to, it was very strange. But she was cut off by another thought, Bubbles.
Hello HIM, I would love to. Unfortunately, I have something important to do. In fact, we may need your help. I'll tell you where to meet me later, even I don't know yet. See you later.
Brat felt as if she was a third wheel in this conversation, and shook her head. She didn't know who this HIM was, but she had a pretty good idea. And she didn't like Him already.
~
Bubbles glided through the air, trying her best to find Brat and Berserk. Suddenly, she could hear Brat. Opening her mind to respond, she was cut off by a familiar voice.
Why don't you come visit me, I do so long to see you...
Giggling slightly, she instantly recognized the voice as belonging to HIM. He seemed back to his usual self, and she was glad. Still, as much as she wanted to go she knew she couldn't just leave Brat and Berserk yet.
Hello HIM, I would love to. Unfortunately, I have something important to do. In fact, we may need your help. I'll tell you where to meet me later, even I don't know yet. See you later.
She nodded once, then felt Brat persisting in trying to reach her. Sighing, she followed the mental trail Brat was leaving and caught up with her instantly.
The other blonde seemed shocked at her arrival, and she smirked. Cute little Bubbles was causing alot of surprises today wasn't she?
Nodding towards Berserk, she gently asked how she was doing.
Smiling softly, Brat pet a few strands of Berserk's hair away.
"Much better...."
Bubbles nodded, eyeing Brat. The other girl flushed lightly, probably out of the sheer awkwardness of the situation.
"...thanks for.....helping my sister....."
Bubbles shook her head, smirking slightly.
"It was nothing, lead the way."
Brat nodded and quickly flew towards the apartment building. Bubbles nodded, it wasn't too bad.
~
Brat sighed, everything was just so weird now. Once they reached the apartment, she directed Bubbles where to go.
"I just need to take care of a few details with the manager here. We don't want to cause suspicion ."
Bubbles nodded, taking Berserk from Brat.
"Alright, but hurry up."
Then, with lightning speed, she was out of Brat's sight and on her way to Brat's window. Nodding, Brat crept slowly to the front desk, a suggestive leer growing on her face.
Blossom scooped GIR up like a teddy bear and stood. "To Omaha, then." Now that they had a lead and a vague plan, Blossom could feel herself becoming more like the fearless leader she used to be. "By car? Train or air would be faster, but that would require buying tickets." Wow, was she really so paranoid that she thought the PowerPunks would instantly know if they used a credit card?
"I'll stay here as well," Max said. "The four of you can take Jules' Volvo."
"Road trip? Fabulous," Jules grinned, earning a sharp glare from Max, but Jules didn't seem to care. Blossom had noticed that Max never could get to Jules even though the younger man apparently worshipped Max. Perhaps Jules knew something about the man they didn't.
"Road trip sounds fun, though perhaps I should tail in my car." Zim said as he got in his car and turned over the engine.
Zim then pressed a button and the car changed and looked like an ordinary looking Sedan. Well then my friends shall we now take our appropriate vehicles and hit the road.
"Oh and you can keep Gir if it seems to bring you any comfort what so ever." Zim said looking over at Blossom.
I'm not a nazi!... I'm a hamster with food in my cheeks!
"'At's what I thought would happen. Everybody gone to the bathroom? Had breakfast? No? Too bad." Brick turned to Max. "If the Powerpunks show up, call Jules, and tell him where they are. We''ll be back faster than you can say.. Well, we'll get here fast."
Brick turned away and walked over to the Volvo, waiting for the others.
Blossom dove into the front passenger seat of the coupe, sticking her tongue out at Brick while GIR giggled histerically in her arms.
Jules slid into the driver's seat. "If we floor it, we can probably make it to the Centre in six hours."
Blossom turned to him, sobred by this development. "Six hours? Flying by plane would be an hour, and it would be faster if Brick and I were to fly on our own. Do you think we're far enough ahead of Berserk to make it in time?"
"We don't have another choice. If we use our powers, they'll know it's us and go after some other source, and we'll lose the oppurtunity to keep Berserk powerless." Brick clambered into the back seat, laying his feet where Zim would have to sit. "Sorry, Buddy, looks like you're gonna have to ride in the trunk!"
"Your case? Oh you mean this case of gold?" The memory laughed now holding the case tFab was after tossing it to him without hesitation, "Catch."
"As for your food, I'm be dropping you off at a 'bed and breakfast' joint that is relatively close to the park." He then pointed to a mirror, it was a simple no larger than a hand held beauty mirror used in a salon. And yet it flickered with light, in this strange world of near-darkness and near-light it stuck out. "Until we meet again, assassin..."
The memory faded, it's duty fullfilled. And should tFAb look deeply into the mirror he would behold a strange sensation as he is ripped back to 'the real world' for there are many ways to enter and leave this shadowy world.
Jules gunned the engine and they were on their way. It was only a matter of minutes until they were on the interstate heading west. Jules nudged Blossom with his elbow. "Behind my seat are my handguns and the holster. Reach 'em for me?"
Blossom had to contort a bit to get ahold of the weapons, but then she had them. "Um, you know these won't make much of a difference if it comes to a fight. Right, Jules?"
He motioned for her to check the magazines. "I know, but it's a superstision thing. Less what ifs later in case something goes wrong."
He floored the car and sped past them and he called Blossom's cell. "If you would be so kind and put me on speaker I will tell you fools what I have A. under the hood of this car and B. What arsenal I like to carry around in this bad boy." Zim said into the bluetooth technology in his Porshe.
I'm not a nazi!... I'm a hamster with food in my cheeks!
Brick reached over to Blossom's cell and hit the 'end' button. "Dick." He said, laying back down in the back seat. "At least six hours will give us all a good time to relax."

-tFabikcalcer-
tFab grunted as he caught the heavy case that was suddenly heaved at him.
“Heh, that was quick… Bed and breakfast sounds good, thanks.”
tFab then watched silently as the man disappeared and he was drawn towards the mirror, as if beckoning him to enter its glassy surface. He couldn’t help but gaze upon the simple-looking object and as he did, he experienced a sensation that felt like he was being sucked into a vacuum cleaner.
“Whoa! What the hellllll…?!”
His words were drowned out by the sudden whooshing noise all around him. He shut his eyes in confusion and when he opened him, he was standing in front of a large building. Delicious smells were wafting out one of the open windows.
“Geez, that was unexpected…”
His stomach started to growl really loudly just then and he realized just how hungry he was.
“Mmmm, I sure hope they make good fish sandwiches here… I haven’t had a good seafood meal in a long time.”
He quickly walked into the building and headed towards the smells. His nose lead him to the kitchen where he could detect the unmistakable odor of fried trout.
“Oh yeah, that’s the stuff…”
A young female chef was whistling to herself as she flipped the fish in a skillet over a hot stove. tFab calmly walked through the doors and she let out a little gasp of surprise upon seeing him.
“Hello there.”
“Um…hello?” she replied back. Who was this person? The kitchen is off limits to non-employees anyway.
“Nice fish you got there.”
“…Thanks?” This guy was starting to creep her out.
“I’ll be relieving you of your cooking duties as of right now and absconding your fish.”
The chef raised an eyebrow at tFab before going back to her work.
“Heh, I don’t think so. I don’t know who you think you are, but Mr. Davis doesn’t like to be kept waiting with his meals and I highly doubt that he would just…eep!”
tFab held a glowing fireball up to her face and grinned at her sinisterly. She tried to back away from the demon, but found that her legs wouldn’t move. She was rooted to the spot and the heat from the fireball was so intense that her eyebrow hairs started to curl and disintegrate.
“P-please don’t hurt me…” she whimpered.
tFab could see the fear in her eyes and he relished the thought of making her squirm some more, but he had more important things to do.
“Wouldn’t dream of it, but you’ll have to tell this ‘Mr. Davis’ person that he will be having something else to eat, understand?”
The young woman whimpered again and nodded.
“Good girl. Now, how about you give me that fish and I’ll let you get back to cooking?”
Wide-eyed, she gingerly picked up the trout by its tail, but it still had too much heat in it and she lost her grip. In one quick move without taking his eyes off her, tFab extinguished the fireball and grabbed the fish around its middle before it could fall to the hardwood floor. She gasped at his lightning-fast reflexes and almost dropped the skillet, but managed to hold on to it.
“Much obliged, miss,” he replied as he continued to grin at her. “And now, I take my leave.”
tFab left the way he came in, leaving the young woman staring after him in shock and wonder. The park was just a short walk away and it took no time for him to get there and find an empty bench. Leaning his case against one of its legs, he sat down and bit into the fish, headfirst, letting the sweet juices run down his chin.
“Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about…”

"Of course, I don't even get on speaker but that jerk Brick and still hear me while the rest can't. Oh well six hours huh? Hmm lets see if we can make it five." Zim said as he shifted gears and headed down the highway.
"If she calls back she'll call back." He said to himself as he put in a Cd
I'm not a nazi!... I'm a hamster with food in my cheeks!
Jules shot a reprimanding look at Brick. "Manners. Ever heard of 'em?" Sighing, he pulled out his own cell phone and called Zim. "Hey, sorry about the RowdyRuff. Listen, you're probably going to beat us there. Why don't you and your supercar work on securing the area while we catch up?"
Jack paused. He had never needed to call a student before, but this one's absense worried him. He knew she was on the other end of the line, waiting impatiently for his response. He scrambled for words, something kind yet striking, to let her know he was disappointed at her absence from school.
"Buttercup?" he finally asks, "Is that you?"
BC
Buttercup groaned, realizing that she had missed a full school day as soon as she heard her teacher's voice.
"Hi Jack..." she said, sheepishly running her hand through her hair, trying to pull it into a ponytail one-handed.
"Not a problem, even though the area should already have some sort of a perimeter already, but I can see what I can do myself with this thing." Zim said to Jules as he pulled up the images of the area that they were heading.
I'm not a nazi!... I'm a hamster with food in my cheeks!
"The Rowdyruff!? He knows me by name, you couldn't have just said 'Brick'? This is exactly why I hate working with the FBI. And don't treat me like some little kid throwing a tantrum, I'm just sick of that guy's bragging."
Brick laid back down. Wasn't worth getting worked up if they're gonna be stuck in a car for a few hours.
