Blossom ignored Brick's ranting. Jules called her PowerPuff more than he called her Blossom. With him, it was kind of a term of endearment.
Since she didn't have anything better to do, Blossom went over her fight with Bubbles in her head. Bubbles' scream had always been her major weapon, but Blossom had never thought of a way to counter it. She though she would never have to...
Furrowing her brow, Blossom cupped her hands and blew cold air into them. It was icy, but no more so than usual. If this was going to work, she needed to get it fucking freezing.
"Jesus," Jules shivered a few minutes later. "What on Earth are you up to?"
"Sorry," Blossom apologized quickly, clapping her hands closed as if she had been caught doing something bad. "I'm trying to freeze my ice breath more than usual. 'Cause see, soundwaves can't travel at absolute zero, so I'm trying to get my breath close to that if not actually absolute zero."
Jules glanced at her, the pity in his eyes briefly visible, and Blossom knew he was thinking about her fight with her sister. But he turned back to the road without saying anything about it. "Absolute zero? And how cold is that, exactly?"
"Bloss, I always thought Absolute Zero was theoretical. Like, impossible to attain because molecules are always in contact with one another, and therefore always attaining heat from some where. I think the only way to get absolute zero was to create a perfect vacuum, which again only exists in theory.."
A siren and the flashing of the state troopers appeared in Zim's rear view. "Well it looks like he actually will do something. Looks like he is also having a hard time in trying to keep up, well I might as well just let him pull me over." Zim said slowing down and pulling over to the side and placing it in his lap and looked at the odometer.
"Sir do you have any earthly idea as to how fast you were going?" the officer asked him
"Well Officer Smith I would have to say about 150 kilometers per hour" Zim replied not even looking up from his dashboard. "However Officer Smith would you happen to know I am an Federal Agent?" he asked sharply as he flashed his badge and FBI id card at the man.
"Well.. I'm sorry sir." Officer Smtith began.
"Well you are causing obstruction of justice at this very moment do you know that?" Zim asked now looking over at the man who was sweating pretty bad now.
"uh.. no sir I didn't, but how did you know who I was?
"I have your entire file right here, I must say however you have an incredible record, though I would lay off the drugs if I were you or your friends at the DEA might pay a visit to your house." Zim said with a smirk knowing that the Officer pretty much was going to let him go for a multitude of reasons this not exactly high on the list either.
"W-w-w-well carry on then sir." the officer said allowing Zim to speed down the road towards his destination.
I'm not a nazi!... I'm a hamster with food in my cheeks!
Blossom shrugged at Brick's retort. "Only a theory for humans, maybe. If anyone can achieve, perhaps an X-ite can. Besides, I need a goal that I can work with here. Trying to freeze the air so that sound waves don't move isn't realistic if I don't have substantial sound waves to work with."
As they spoke, they almost passed Zim. A police officer had pulled him over - for speeding, presumably - but now ahead of them, he was speeding westward once more. Blossom was slightly annoyed that the police officer had caused the delay, but she was grateful that he was doing his job and not slacking off.
"Well, aren't there other ways to counter sound waves? Like, with sound waves?" Brick chuckled a bit, "If only Boomer were here, that feminine voice of his would sure be a lifesaver!" Brick laughed again, but it quickly faded. His gaze averted, and he intertwined his fingers.
I still don't know what happened to him.. for all I know, he could have been killed... dammit Brick! Why the hell did you join Him!? Had you just gone and left well enough alone, we would be a family again.. a.. family..
Brick curled up in the back seat and buried his head. He never got over that it was his fault.. the Boys breaking up, the Girls splitting, too.. all the deaths, the pain.. it was all his fault. And yet he foolishly clung to the idea of being a hero..
Emotion stabbed at Blossom's heart at the sound of Brick's forced laugh. The RowdyRuff breakup must have been just as rough - if not more so - than the PowerPuff breakup. Blossom still couldn't believe that she, Bubbles, and Buttercup were no longer inseperable. It still hurt that she and Bubbles had become enemies in an instant. Blossom didn't even know if Buttercup was still alive.
Blossom zapped her hands with her heat ray for a split second to warm them back up. Then she twisted in her seat to face Brick. He was curled into a ball, and she took his hand sympathetically. She wanted him to know he really wan't alone in this.
Whatever. Like it was all about him. Blossom could use some support, too. Glaring at Brick, she huffed and turned back to face front. Jules tried unsuccessfully to cover a laugh, and that earned him a glare from Blossom as well. "I think I'll take a nap," Blossom said, her voice as icy as her breath. Lifting the lever on the side of her seat, Blossom pushed her seat back, purposely slamming Brick in the legs before lifting the seat a bit and slipping almost instantly into sleep.
Jules laughed softly. "Hell hath no fury, kid." A wondering light in his eyes, he glanced up at Brick in the rearview mirror. "Out of curiosity... Did you scorn her at some point other than just now. Back at the crash site, it seemed like the two of you might have some history." He looked back at the road. "I'm just wondering. You don't have to answer that if it's too personal."
Buttercup sighed angrily and dashed her phone back to the reciever.
She had been ignoring the increasing power levels downstairs and next door, but she was perturbed at Jack's silence, so she just gave up on his questioning.
She stormed across the room, grabbing up a light hoodie in a shade of green that matched her eyes.
Leaving Arken sound asleep in the chair, she slammed out the door to see what the damn commotion in Brat's room was.

tFab finished the fish and wiped his mouth on the back of his hand.
“Damn, that was good fish. I haven’t had fish that good in a long time. It could have used some more lemon and garlic butter, though.”
He yawned and stretched before checking to make sure that his case with the gold bars was still where he had left it.
“Okay, down to business. Ignatius, or at least one version of him, said that in order to reveal the location of the next clue I would need to solve the next riddle -- ‘One who is lost in a sorrow that is detached and avoidant. Family and friend you've met and yet never truly her.’ Okay, let’s see…I know I’m looking for a girl because of what the riddle said. ‘Family and friend you’ve met’? So, I’ve met her family and at least one of her friends.”
tFab racked his brain to see who could fit that description.
“Well, the only girls that I’ve met are Bell, Brute, Buttercup, that Bubbles imposter, Tracy Cutler, her secretary, that other girl who was with them, the mother with her two children, and I think Blossom. Well, Blossom and Buttercup I’ve never actually met in person; Buttercup was really a clone that I was viewing from inside my head with Ignatius and I’m not entirely sure if it was really Blossom whom I saw that day. The long, red hair was unmistakable, but I don’t know…”
After a few minutes of careful contemplation and a few stares from people for talking to himself, tFab narrowed down the possibilities to the Bubbles imposter.
“She’s the only one who really fits the riddle concerning whom I’ve met. ‘And yet never truly her’… Does that mean that she’s not who she says she is? Heh, I knew that she was an imposter and this riddle pretty much proved it. Well, if she’s the key to the next clue, then I’ll need to pay her a visit. If she’s not still at the apartment building, then I can easily hunt her down. Her stench and aura is not something that I can forget. It was very distinctive, close to that of a Powerpuff’s like Bell’s, but not quite. Well, I better get a move on then.”
tFab stood up from the bench and grabbed the case, but paused from doing anything further.
“Wait a minute, Ignatius said that once I answer the question the clue will reveal itself... as for the deed that was committed that night. So, I have to stay here? The clue will reveal itself at the park, but do I have to find ‘Bubbles’ first? And what deed was committed what night? Does this have anything to do with that explosion that Ignatius showed me? Gah, too many fuckin’ questions!”
tFab dropped the case and stood panting with his hands on his knees.
“Okay…if the clue doesn’t reveal itself in the next five minutes, then I’m going back to the apartment building and confront the Bubbles imposter. She could prove to be a valuable asset and I owe her another visit anyway concerning the whereabouts of the Powerpuff Girls.”
After tFab had calmed down, he propped the case against the bench again and sat down on the lacquered wood waiting for the next clue to appear.

Berserk
Wha... wha... where am I?
Berserk opened her eyes into total darkness. She breathed a little before trying to move when she realised she was struggling against some sort of material.
"Aah... I'm trapped in a void!" Berserk shouted as she kicked and screamed at the material that flew back and forth and occassionally stuck itself to her.
"Oh... it's no use... I'm stuck in a useless void!" Berserk sighed, and sat down on the base of the material environment.
"And now... I've lost my powers to even break it..." Berserk said, tearing.
Bubbles stared at Berserk, raising an eyebrow in disbelif.
Don't tell me she's really......
Her lips tugged upwards a bit, she tried and failed to hide a small smile. Before she could stop, a smooth, amused giggle escaped her lips.
She was momentarily shocked by this, but then she let the feeling take over. It felt good to laugh. She placed a hand over her mouth, trying to suppress her laughter.
...joy and the laughter.....
She stopped, an amused smirk still crossing her face.
"Oi, Berserk. Stop your stuggling will you!"
Kneeling down, she placed her hands on the bag in order to calm Berserk down. She grinned wickedly, shoving down harshly on the bag in annoyance.
"You know how annyoing you've been lately? First I had to carry your heavy ass here, now I have to deal with your idiotic squealing?"
She noogied the bag a bit to show her annoyance, then eyebeamed the bag. She was careful not to harm the now mortal Berserk in the process.
"I don't think we've had a chance to really be aquainted, the name's Bubbles. You knew me as 'Rini'."
She smirked, gesturing to Brat's room.
"I think this is Brat's room. She'll be back later. Oh, and your laudness may have alerted my sister of our presence. Good going."
With how oblivious Berserk was being, she didn't even know of the girl would detect her sarcasm.
"My, My... And here I thought the boy had picked the wrong man for the job.." Came a course and bitter voice, an older man immerged from the crowd, unseen by them as they casually walked through him for he was just a 'ghost' from an unknown past. The memory himself appeared to be a man in his late 40's dressed in a magnificent officer's coat, war badges addorned his chest and an equally magnificent cap covered the head, the face was gruff and unkept, while his eyes were a penetrating green and a deep scar ran across the man's face.
"To answer your question; Yes you've answered one question and much to my annoyance raised many more, a habbit I've tried to rid the boy of." The man demanded attention and did not seem to take full notice of tFab, "To answer your speculation, the boy had shown you a possibility, the explosion may or may not happen but that is not your primary concern now is it?"
He signed, "Life is truly confusing isn't it? One moment you think your in control of your life and the next it is all taken away from you, leaving you to tread in uncharted waters, with out a paddle, compass and crew... Yet there are always people you can turn to. Bah listen to me ramble, as per my orders I am require to give you the next piece of information with the standard protocol of letting you ask... yad yad..."

tFab jumped at the sound of a nearby voice, as a man dressed in military attire came walking through the crowd of people strolling through the park.
“Well, that was quick… Either that, or I’m going to have to start speaking up more often.”
Ignoring the insult that was directed at him, tFab took closer note of the man as he drew nearer and was intrigued by his features, specifically his face and eyes, which were a piercing green, almost the color of emeralds.
“So, I was right. The girl is indeed that Bubbles imposter. But, what does she have to do with all of this? Let me guess, something to do with inner demons and all that. Kinda like an ‘I help her, she’s helps me’ thing, right?”
tFab didn’t mean to sound arrogant or rude in any way and he hoped that the man did not take any offense to his blunt questions.
“No, I guess the explosion is not really my primary concern right now…” tFab was pleased though to hear that the man was going to give him the next clue, but he wasn’t quite sure how to ask for it. In all honesty, he had forgotten if there was any protocol for asking for the information. “Uh, please hand over the next clue? Oh, and do I need to go visit the girl before anything else is done?”

Berserk
"Definately... I'd love to hear it!" Berserk said happily, looking at Bubbles in anticipation. "Is it easy? Wait... can't I just inject Chemical X into myself?" Berserk wondered. "But where could I get my hands on that stuff?" she added as a question.
"Yes, you probably could. However, that's just what they'd be expecting us to do. I can't go to the Professor for help because he would never give me what I need....alive..."
Despite her attitude, she didn't want to kill the Professor yet, if at all.
"No, I have a much more evil idea. One that parallels that of another redhead."
She grinned, even if the situation was similar, she knew she'd be able to keep tabs on Berserk much easier than she ever could have on Brick. Or even Blossom had she recruited her sister.
"What we need.....is HIM'S power. He owes me and I owe him. I'm sure he'd pay us this one favor if he knew it would benefit him."
She leaned over Berserk a bit, hands on her hips.
"So....you want to join OUR cause and receive power unlike any you've seen before?"
Going the power route was one of the top ways of getting a villain to cooperate, she knew this from all the training HIM had given her.
Post by tomaszavenger on May 14, 2009 16:38:32 GMT -5
"What is your cause? Sorry... I don't really know you well Rini, I mean Bubbles? And who is him? Is he a him? Or is him a he? It kinda reminds me of that villain her back home. I could never tell whether she was a he or a she, although I assumed a she by the name but she or he sounds male. Does that mean her him is a... oh... I'm confused." Berserk wondered.
"The power sounds nice... I'd love to beat up Brat for the very first time!" she said, dreaming about the event.
"I know nothing of your villains or heroes, save Jomo Momo and the Oppressor. What He is or what our cause is doesn't really matter. He may or may not explain it. All you need to know is that you will be getting your powers back and then some."
She smirked lightly, then shook her head.
"As for Brat, you may NOT start a fight with her. For some reason, I would be able to feel it. So if you pick a fight with your sister, you pick a fight with me."
Despite the lecture, Bubbles was glad that Berserk seemed oblivious in a way. At least there would be no big blowup about her deceit.
"Calm down. Its yes or no. Yes, you get power. No, you get to be a worthless mortal with no means of defense."

Samurai Jack
Jack sat leaning on his desk receiver in hand. The line clicked and the phone began to beep. He knew Buttercup to be quite the impatient type so such a response was to be expected.
He sighed and placed the receiver on its stand and wondered, "What was it I was going to say?".
He pinched the crook of his nose between his index and thumb and massaged. The day dragged on outside and the bell rang, recess was over and so was the lunch break he had wasted.
His mind still preoccupied over Buttercup's absence he took out his final period's lesson plans and tried to forget...
You lost the game over 9000 times. </3 Dick Cheney.
Blossom paced irratibly in the lobby of the Omaha Research Cetre. Despite her nap in the car, she didn't feel refreshed at all. Although, she wasn't still a mess. Max had called ahead and requested that they have a set of clothes ready for Blossom. So she had showered in the locker room, cleaned up the gash on her head, and changed into a clean pair of jeans, a blue T-shirt, and a gray tourist hoodie with the large pink letters "FBI" on the front. She had left her hair down to air dry, wrapping her ribbon around her neck.
But now, there was nothing to do. Blossom had fully expected Bubbles, Brat, and Berserk to already be there causing hell, but they weren't. Absolutely nothing was out of the ordinary. So now, Blossom, Brick, and Jules were left with a decision to make. Did the wait here in Omaha for the rogue X-ites to come after the Chemical X, or did they go back to Megaville. Blossom didn't want to go back, it would be admitting that the fucking six hour drive was all for nought. But what else was there to do?
Blossom rounded on Jules, Brick, and Zim. "What are we supposed to do now?" she snarled, just as her stomach rumbled.

Berserk
"Oh... I don't want to hurt you Ri... I mean Bubbles." Berserk said, surprised that she actually meant her words.
"Oh... okay then!" she finally decided. She wanted to crush Brick after what he done to her. The target in her mind had switched from Brat to Brick within the course of a few seconds.
"That's a yes! Let's go!" she said eagerly before slipping and hitting the floor. She rubbed her head before picking herself up.
"What are we waiting for?"

Brick's hair was still wet from the hurried shower he had taken, and was staining the edges of his red overshirt into a blood color. The clothes they provided him with was just a plain red t-shirt with a black stripe across it, and black jeans, reminiscent of his old uniform.
"We do nothing. We can wait a little bit, take a break. And if anything happens back in Megaville, Bunny can handle it, at least until we arrive." Something kept tugging at Brick, the uncertainy of this plan. If he was wrong about what Berserk and the others would do next, he'd have just led them on a useless detour, and he really didn't feel like explaining that one to the FBI.
"Is there a vending machine around here somewhere?"
"Around the corner," Jules answered Brick, jabbing his thumb towards the doors next to the main desk. "Don't go far. The security grunts would probably try to tackle you." He paused for a moment, checking his watch. "Actually, why don't we just go to the cafeteria?" He winked at Blossom. "I think our little flower might lose some of her thorns if she gets some actual food in her stomach."
Blossom crossed her arms and turned on her heel. "I don't need food. I'll stay right here to just wait for something to happen."
