As Buttercup paused, Arken took a moment to look at her. Luckily for him, she didn't seem to have any murderous intent towards him. Something to be thankful for, he supposed.
He said to her, "I guess I couldn't stop you after all, eh? Well, just be careful, alright?"
He gave her an innocent smile and said "Well, goodbye for now, Buttercup. See you again another time."
Brat squeezed Buttercup's hand slightly to comfort her. Then, turning to Arken, she stuck her tongue out. Glaring, she wordlessly was pulled along with Buttercup out of the doorway.
What now.....I hope she isn't going to be mad at me.....
She was surprised though, that Buttercup could pull her out of her rage like that. Before, she would have PUT her into a rage.
Arken waited until he was sure they were gone before moving again. He put his head through the doorway and looked down the hall. No sign of them. Good.
He quickly made his way to his own dwelling, opened the door, entered the room, closed and locked the door, then fell into a chair on the other side of the room.
Arken could barely think straight. What had come over him? Nobody could say.
"So...That was an interesting evening, eh?" The inner Arken asked.
You're telling me. Arken replied. Why in God's name did I do that? Did I go temporarily insane?
"Can't tell ya. All I know is that you were nearly killed by that Brat girl."
But I wasn't. Unfortunately. Arken added bitterly. At least Buttercup didn't want to kill me.
"Yeah, but that's only because you confused the hell out of her."
True, true... Both Arkens went silent for a moment, until Arken asked Well, what now? I've basically sealed my own fate and let Buttercup and Brat go off to their possible doom. So what have I got left?
"Remember your original objective, Arken. What you've got left is the task of separating us.
Arken sat up and slapped his forehead. "Of course!" he said "How could I forget? Come on, let's prepare."
With a sweep of his hand, Arken cleared the furniture out of his home. He went over to his closet and, after opening the door, pulled out armfulls of books, scrolls, and magical artifacts. After setting them all down, he reached back into the closet and pulled out a suitcase before closing it.
"What's the suitcase for?" Inner Arken asked.
This is for when and if we get severe injuries. Arken replied.
He then sat down on the floor, cross-legged, picked up a book, and began to read.
"Bah, false alarm...." Ignatius sighed rolling his eyes, he had followed the emergency services and found out it was just for a school event. Annoyingly he found out a bit too late, if he had found out sooner he'd have jumped ship and caused some more chaos for the criminals. After all he had nothing to do.
The city was strangely comfortable or was it because it was the first city he had visited in a long time. In the end he shrugged the feeling off and continued walking down past the school of Megaville.
Zim begin to sip on his drink after the waitress had brought his drink to him and he had ordered things called french fries. He had such things at that pathetic school he had once went to and wanted to see if they were just as horrible. However when the waitress brought the fries they smelled much better, and in fact they tasted better then school fries.
Zim finished eating and paid with the pathetic thing the humans called currency and he headed outside and just began to go for a walk, maybe to the forest and clear his mind, he honestly didn't know. He was now beginning to doubt if what he had decided on was truely best.
"Why did I not thinking about it more, its not like HIM will care if I get hurt or disappear for that matter. All he cares about is my tech most likely" Zim muttered to himself as he walked into the forest deep in thought.
I'm not a nazi!... I'm a hamster with food in my cheeks!

Berserk
"Honestly Brink... what the HELL are you doing? And no... none of those are Brat. Although... wait. THERE'S BRUTE! I cannot be seen!"
Berserk took out her bows to let her hair fall and quickly kissed Brick to get out of view of Brute. She pulled Brick behind the tree, and then released the kiss.
"Don't worry... that meant nothing. And you better not think it did or I'd rip you to pieces."
Berserk wiped her lips, disgusted she had to pull such an act.
Butch
Butch stepped back a little in case of the gas explosion... but looking at the crater, that didn't seem possible.
"Honestly... judging from that hole, it looks like the crater left behind by a small ballistic missile." Butch said.
"Trust me... I know... Military training" he added, and he stepped into the crater to check the softness of the ground. Sure enough, he figured out the direction the thing came from. He looked, and saw two people kissing and going behind a tree.
"Interesting..." Butch noted, turning back and going to the cat.

Berserk
"Honestly... stop blushing, it makes you look stupid." Berserk glared at Brick's reaction.
He is embarassed... geez, I told him it meant nothing!
Berserk realised Brink might never have been kissed before, or if he had, it wasn't anything meaningful, or it had been brief.
"Aww... little Brinky not used to kissy kissy!" Berserk mocked.
She kept behind the tree to avoid being seen by Brute, but was still very unsure of what Brute was doing there. Then... she realised that the green-eyed boy looked pretty similar to her. In fact, their likeness was freaky.
Brick looked back up at her with a glare for the 'kissy kissy' remark. He couldn't decide whether or not to tell her, considering that even though they would go after him later, He hadn't thought of a proper confrontation with him.
"Nope. Not a clue.. I just want to leave if she's not here. He looks like he may know what he's doing, and I don't want to get pegged for this."

"Well... I guess you are right. There is no reason staying here. We might as well fly off and look for her elsewhere. You're a really strange guy though..." Berserk noted.
Berserk slowly walked away from the crater, but made sure Brute did not see her. She asked Brink to follow her.
He's weak in his emotions... I should be able to exploit that at a later time.

Bubbles' mind was going a million miles a minute now. She had to process everything that had gone on now and it wasn't completely east.
HUH? Kiss? Brute and Butch.....what's going on here? Have a been away THAT long? I thought that Berserk and Brick just met.....could I have been wrong? Red.....Green......
Rubbing her temples, Bubbles glared in the general direction of the two groups. And now they thought they were leaving. She'd have to follow them, she knew that.
But who? Butch KNOWS about me.......if only I could gather more data....though what I have is more than I had planned....
She felt sinking feeling in her chest, for a brief moment, but pushed it aside roughly. Who cared about idiotic villains anyway? She was just going to destroy them in the end. She felt a little uneasy though. Spying was natural to her, afterall she had spied on her sister before when they were little. But, this seemed awkward to her. Shaking her head, Bubbles glared again.
Dumb fucks.....wait.....where IS Brat.....Brute and Berserk are here, but no Brat? And what about..........
She couldn't bring herself to think that name though. She didn't know why, but she just couldn't do it.
She dosen't seem to care about disguising herself, she must want everyone to know she's evil. I guess.. she's a lot like Butch used to be.
Brick let slip a chuckle, remembering his hot-headed brother. Before the military and Dr. X, Butch was probably the craziest of the Rowdyruffs. He was fun to pick on, but unlike his other brother, Butch would actually be a little.. rowdy.
Brick let out another snicker. "Rumble time.." Brick laughed, remembering Butch's stupid little dance.

As soon as Berserk was out of view, she quickly rearranged her bows, her many years of weaing them had allowed her to put them on with extreme speed, and soon she was just like before.
"So... where should we go looking now?" Berserk asked Brick. She wasn't good with making ideas, and relied on him to make a decision.
Brute narrowed her eyes at Brick, wary for a moment before speaking. "Butch! I think your "Brother" wants to fight! Are you going to fight him?" She asked a little concerned before glaring at Brick. Though her eyes caught something--- someone! "B-Berserk?!" She gasped in surprise, stepping away from Butch just as quickly before muttering. "It's not what it looks like!"
(OOC: Bah.. Soooo behind @.@ Sorry for the bad post Tom! >.<)
EDIT: I thought Brick was going to fight Butch? I'll fix it if need be because I'm confused now >.<

"How tha hell shouyld I know?" Brick snapped, getting a bit pissed because of the incompitence of his 'partner'.
"If she's a super, she would have been here in a flash from that explosion. I guess we'll search the other side of town. But this time, you make the boom. I'm not risking Butch finding me at a crime scene again--" Brick smacked his mouth shut.
SONOFABITCH, BRICK! You're an idiot! Don't have heard his name.. PLEASE don't have heard his name..!
Post by tomaszavenger on Dec 10, 2008 16:33:09 GMT -5
"Who's Butch? Oh... so you DO know that guy. You lied to me... well it only figures. You're a new one to this hun." Berserk said. She felt a tiny bit sorry for Brick, and his inability to act the villain he was supposed to be, and she attempted to quench the light thought.
Berserk came up to him and hugged Brick, not really to console him, and partially to start her seduction technique. He would be useful in her quest.
"You know... you don't have to hide things Brink... if that's even your real name." Berserk said, rubbing his back as she said it.
"Don't try it." Brick shrugged her off. "I'm here to help, not to be friendly. Hello, once I'm done, I'll be out of this town.." Brick's eyes darted back and forth, "for good this time."
Brick turned down an alley and hopped the fence.
"Now hurry up. As soon as we're far enough from the park, we'll fly." Brick felt a surge, his natural leadership boiling to the surface again.
She really isn't going to say anything about me.....?
Nervously, Brat bit her thumb. This was a bit awkward, but she was still glad that Buttercup had decided to take her along after all. She squeezed her hand a bit for reassurance. No way were they going to lose Bubbles. They'd find her together.....
"Uh uhm........."
She desperately wanted to know why she wasn't being attacked right now, but she didn't know how to word the question.
Everything is so confusing......so complicated........
If only the right words would come to her. Was this what it felt like to be so scared you couldn't speak? She had never been scared before, but now she realized that it wasn't a great feeling.
Wait.....the Oppressor was scary........
She didn't want to think of him now though, she had more important things to attend to.
Pink eyes weren't exactly common, but on a day like this, sunglasses were. No one looked twice at the red head with the mirrored glasses. It also helped that she wore a common place, soft pink sweater with dark blue jeans. One of the first instructions from her new team leader, Max Bhagat, was to keep a low profile unless absolutely necessary. Now, as she stood at the edge of the crowd that had rushed to the park, she flipped open the silver cell phone that had been issued to her by the Bureau when she became a field agent the day before.
Max picked up after the first ring. "Bhagat," his smooth voice greeted her.
"Sir, there's been some kind of explosion. The townsfolk are saying it was from a gas leak - which is fine, we don't want them panicking - but, I've seen this before. It looks like something a RowdyRuff or PowerPunk would cook up. In fact, I saw two people, a young man and a young woman both dressed in red, leaving the scene a moment ago. They were too far away to identify, but..." Casually, she reached her arm up to run her fingers through her hair and then hook them around the back of her neck. The gesture made her look like any other stunned bystander, but it also blocked her mouth from anyone who might be reading her lips. She lowered her voice as well as she continued, "I'm standing about twenty yards away from two others, and them I recognize. It's Butch and Brute. Even if it wasn't Brick and Berserk who caused the explosion, there are sill RowdyRuffs and PowerPunks here."
There was silence on the other end for just a moment. "All right," Max said, his voice just slightly tighter. Outsiders new him as being cool and unperturbed no matter the situation, but people who had actually worked with him said that he was really a roiling ball of nerves on the inside. Blossom fancied she could hear his teeth grinding together now over the phone. But his voice was still calm and composed. "Don't follow them. If something else happens, then go there immediately. But I don't want you going at this alone. Normal field agents are useless now, but try to find your sisters. We don't know where Bubbles is, but I think we might have Buttercup's address on file. I'll text you when I find it."
"Got it, sir," Blossom responded then hung up. She paused, surveying the damage, discreetly watching the green clad supers, and wondered, Why now? What changed that brought us all to this one spot?
Her phone buzzed once, and she flipped it open to view the text from Max. She quickly memorized the address, then deleted the message. The last thing anyone needed was for that type of information to fall into evil hands. Shaking her head one last time at the scene of destruction, she turned to go.

Berserk
He's changed his personality, so I think I'll need to change my tactic.
Berserk felt she wasn't going to be able to control Brick. But she could always try to use her speciality.
Her ability to control feelings.
Berserk induced an invisible aura, one she had used before to get her own way. But this was no longer to do things in her favour. This was to get Brat. She'd need Brick's full hatred to show.
Berserk's own hate boiled within her to keep the aura steady.
"YEAH... MAKE THE LADY WALK!" she retorted. "EXCUSE ME FOR TRYING TO BE FRIENDLY!" she added.
"LOOK!" Brick snapped in response, unfamiliar anger rising inside of him. "ALL I'M TRYING TO DO IS MAKE SURE SUPERS LIKE THEM" Brick pointed towards Butch and Brute, "DON'T GET ON OUR TRAIL! If you want my help finding this 'Brat', I suggest keeping your trap SHUT!!" Brick turned, cracking the concrete under his feet. He didn't need to deal with this.
Still, I've achieved my objective, why do I feel the need to stay with her?
Brick shook the thought from his head, and started out the other end of the alley.
"We head behind that school over there," Brick pointed towards a run-down old public school, "and then we can fly."
Brick turned back to berserk, the red of his eyes almost shining through the contacts.

Berserk
"Got it..." Berserk sulked. She could feel her aura wasn't exactly making him controllable, rather it was breaking it, so she switched it off, it was draining her energy quickly anyway.
Besides, she didn't seem to be able to get angry at Brick for too long. He HAD offered to help.
Berserk walked along until she got to the school, turning back to see if Butch and Brute were still there. But they were long gone...
Before Berserk began her flight, she kept looking at Brick. Somehow, she could barely take her eyes off him.
He's strong and brave, and my aura isn't going to change that.
Berserk waited for him to begin flying so she could follow.

Butch
Butch knew something was odd about those two that had gone behind the tree. They were in the direction it exploded from! But only an Xite would have that sort of ability... unless... they were Xites! But how... it'd have to be one of his brothers and a Powerpunk or Powerpuff, but they looked nothing alike. Or maybe they were new ones... after all... his brothers were supposed to be dead, according to his haunting dreams.
It seemed the sky was getting darker, nightfall approached. Butch didn't want to go to sleep. The nightmares would resume.
He shivered as he thought about the dark figure which had slain both his brothers without giving it a second thought. It was the price of 'interference'.
What have I done? I have been fighting in the war, I've been far from this place, and yet I am the cause of some kind of interference. Why?
Butch was so caught up in his fear that he had clung onto Brute and was unable to let go. He shivered into her, and when he realised that he was grabbing Brute too hard, he softened a little, and kissed her passionately.
"Brute... I don't feel too good, I think I need to go home."
Butch's curse seemed to be attempting to activate itself, even without the sleep factor being present. But the only possible method of projection would be if Butch fell asleep. His energy was sapped from him to fulfil the curse's dangerous conditions.
Butch began to faint and he could barely remain concious. He struggled to keep himself up, and looking into Brute's eyes, he called to her: "Help me... take me somewhere so I may rest. I cannot hold on much longer. Darling... I love you..."
Butch's curse finally took his grip, and Butch fell into Brute, completely unconcious.
Butch awoke in a familiar place. The marathon ring took its hold on him.
The dark figure appeared again, and this time, his brothers were on two other marathon rings. Brick and Boomer seemed lifeless however. These were only projections of his brothers, not the real ones.
"It seems death may elude your brother's after all!" the figure said. Butch began to smile, but noticing an object in the dark figures hands, stopped immediately.
"But instead, they will begin to hate you!" the figure said. He quickly stabbed a pair of needles into his two brothers, and then the marathon ring released Butch, causing him to fall and hit his skull. After a momentary daze, Butch was horrified to see his brothers reach for a mace and mallet and approach him, hatred burning in their eyes, making Boomer's blue turn into a hateful cyan and Brick's Red turn into a demonic earthen colour.
Butch saw a door to the left of the room and quickly smashed it open, and noticed that it led to a huge ante-chamber. He could only imagine what the actual chamber looked like. The ante chamber had weapons all over the room, and Butch picked up a golden warhammer, since it was the largest weapon in the room.
His brothers sped toward him, and Butch threw his hammer to knock them away. His brother's flew back, the walls of the room crumbling. But then they came back off and released quick slashes of their own weapons at Butch. Butch dodged, and realising the power of the hammer was not a good compromise for its weight, dropped it, making a small hole in the floor in the shape of the hammer.
Butch picked up a bow and quiver from the wall, but as he was about to load it Boomer's mace snapped it. Then Brick's mallet hit straight into Butch, sending him into the wall. But his brothers continued smashing eagerly, until Butch was completely broken up.
"This nightmare is far from over." the dark figure said, before using a spark of magic to teleport Butch back up. He quickly injected Butch with a serum, and Butch was back to full strength.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Butch asked as he felt he was in one piece.
"Prolonging your torture... it's interesting to watch" the figure said.
His brothers were still coming for him. Their eyes still the same.
Brick's form glided across the night sky, casting a silhouette upon the waning moon. Brick and Berserk had been flying for hours, Brick deliberately flying to false objectives in an effort to tire his associate down. He had an inkling that she wasn't going to quit soon, her hatred had fueled her past what her body could produce.
Brick scoffed. Of all the people he could've gone to today, Bubbles, Butch, any of them.. he was obligated to this one. Her attitude had certainly ticked him off, and the fact that she won't quit made Brick himself tired. The two emotions eventually cancled each other out, and Brick had been flying a lifeless husk up until this moment.
Brick suddenly stopped and did a quick turn in the air, catching Beserk.
"Alright, we've been flying much too long. What do you say we hold off on Brat and get some Z's?" Brick said, heading back to his normal, friendly visage.
Post by tomaszavenger on Dec 13, 2008 9:55:12 GMT -5
Berserk was tired, but it wasn't about her hate of Brat that had fuelled her. Curiousity of the new red was heating up in her.
Then, she thought he offered her to catch some sleep.
"Umm... I have no where to go? Mind if I sleep at your house?" she asked him. He probably thinks I'm a burden... I should probably leave.
"Actually... forget it, I'll go sleep in some random motel." Berserk said, and she slowly began to descend from the sky which she had been in for a long while.
"HEY!" Brick shouted down at her. "Didn't you forget!? We're villains!"
Brick fell, landing in front of a particularly fancy hotel.
"Just a little super-powered persuasion, and you'll have a better place to stay than a crappy little motel." Brick said to her, plastering a malicious smile on his face.
