The brat's voice rang through the hall, agitating Elizabeth's already throbbing headache. She wanted to rip his head off right then, but where was the fun in that? Her red eyes flashed briefly as she raised her temperature just enough to look feverish as she turned towards Matt. "Wh-what?" she answered him, widening her eyes and letting her knees shake a bit.
Matt stopped in his tracks. He sensed her agitation, and damn wasn't fooled by her acting. Instead of being angry, though, he assumed an apologetic pose.
"I'm sorry, I'm probably making thiings worse.. but I just needed to ask if you needed any help. If something's wrong, I can help a lot faster than that arrogant nurse.." He slowly reached for her. Ignoring the facade, and unresponsive to the rageful reaction he was sure to get, he placed his hands on her forehead, and his hands glowed gold for a moment.
He snapped his hand back to his own head, and his eyes shut in pain. He penetrated the illusion, and had absorbed her real headache, a terrible migraine. He squealed in pain for a moment, but his hands glowed gold again and the headache was gone, as well as the girl's.
"Mutual healing.. once I get better I can work around having to absorb pain, but in the meantime.." He smiled slightly, and held out his hand. "My name is Matt, pleased to meet you.." He didn't expect her to respond, but why miss the chance?
"Matt?" Elizabeth confirmed, wide-eyed. "Oh, thank you so much! But you know..." She took Matt's hand and snapped back to her normal, red-eyed self, grinning cruelly as she ignited both their hands. "I think I'm still burning up!"
He smiled in response, the flames hurt him terribly, but he didn't care.
"I guess it's a bad time then.." He said in a sad tone, "but i'd rather not get into a fight, so.." He tried to pull his hand away, but found her grip was tight.
"Let go? Why, that wouldn't be any fun at all!" Her grip tightened, and electricity began to dance over her body as a wind billowed her hair as if she were underwater. "You're a healer, right, Matt? Tell me, at what point is an injury beyond your capabilities?"

Zenith
Zenith caught Grace smiling at him and he returned it back to her with a nod of his head. It was then that Lucas offered him a challenge in the form of a very interesting puzzle.
“Sounds awesome, Lucas; I accept your challenge. Now, where can I get me some of those puzzles?”
Lucas almost reluctantly walked over to his desk before pulling out some sheets from a drawer and handing them to Zenith. He then started to flip through the sheets while glancing at the grids every so often.
“Hmm, I think I might have done something like these before. The groups of boxes all have to add up to the indicated numbers, right? Should be interesting.”
Matt made a pondering face, then replied "Only at the point of death. Sorry, but this-" he shifted his eyes to the charred-black mass attached to his wrist, "Is but a flesh wound." Matt again tried to pull his hand way, but knew he couldn't.
"I really don't want to fight, miss. I'm afraid someone could get hurt.."
[I'm afraid I'd also have to godmod! Oh noes! 0.0]
"You're right," Elizabeth smiled, releasing Matt's charred hand and letting the elements around her die down. "I don't really want to fight either. Besides, you know what they say. Don't make war..." She pushed Matt against the lockers, using only her fingertips and popping one foot up as she stood on her toes to reach to whisper in his ear. "...Make love."
Elizabeth purred. "Please. Don't pretend you don't want to." She laid her head on his chest. "I can hear your heart racin-"
Ba-bump.
Elizabeth's vision completely clouded over with scarlet with each beat of her heart. Her eyes glowed solid red. She needed release now.
Ba-bump. Ba-bump.
Clenching her teeth, she reeled away from Matt. "Shit," she growled, fire, lightning, and wind violently swirling around her. The elements spun faster and faster, pulling closer and closer to Elizabeth's body, until they exploded outwards, dissipating before they could do any real damage.
Eliza fell back against the lockers across the hall from Matt, her eyes clear and green once more. "Sorry," she murmured. "Christ, sorry... I didn't think that would happen again so soon..."
"Blegh.." Matt responded as he slid to the floor, face still bright red. "No problem.. as long as you're okay.." He stood, smiling. "But that was quite an effect!" He said ecstatically. "What are your powers, specifically?"
Matt didn't seem to put off that Eliza had just attacked him and then almost raped him. Smiling slightly, Eliza told him, "When I'm in my right mind, I've got strength, minor regeneration abilities, and control of wind, fire, and electricity. I stronger when I'm having a... fit... but it's exhausting, never lasts more than a few minutes, thank God. I don't think I introduced myself. I'm Eliza Paine."
Matt grinned. "I knew I'd get your name, eventually. Plus I think you're the first person I've met with elemental powers.." Matt cocked his head to one side. "Fits, huh? Maybe I can help next time.."
Eliza's eyes lit up at Matt's offer. "Could you? That would be amazing..."
Gritting his teeth, Ken pulled his head back from around the corner, hiding himself entirely. He didn't know what it was. Seeing Eliza Paine's smile was like a punch to the gut. Scratch that. He knew what it was. Eliza looked like a fucking porcelain doll, and when she smiled, she looked positively angelic. Nothing should be that beautiful. Ken wanted to take her smile and wipe it away, to break her so completely that she would never smile again.
"Well, my power is biological manipulation, from my dad. I would have to learn how, but I absolutely could!" Matt smiled again, it was a habit he couldn't break. "But I do have a question.. are you a hero or a villain?"
"Please." Matt sat cross-legged on the floor. "I would certainly enjoy hearing more about you.. and it looks like we aren't returning to class anytime soon, so.." Matt made a gesture for her to sit, too.
Ken settled in around the corner. If he was going to rip Eliza apart from the inside, he needed to know all he could about her. "Well..." Eliza started. "Actually, today's been kind of weird. Normally, people dislike me as soon as they meet me. My parent's and I have never really figured why. I was placed in hero class my first freshman year, but then... Then my fits started. I was moved to villain class, and I had to redo freshman year.
"...But I hate it. I hate being labeled a villain. I don't want to be evil. I don't want it drilled into my head that that's what I should be. I want to be a hero that the people love, that my parents can be proud of..." She was silent for a moment, and when she spoke again, Ken could hear tears in her mirthless laugh. "I haven't talked to anyone about this for years. People usually shy away from me, they only want to believe the rumors about me that go around."
That was it. That whole villain/hero identity crisis was Eliza's weak spot, her Achilles' heel. That was where Ken needed to strike.
Matt felt a surge of determination, forcing him to stand. "We'll take care of this, and you can be a hero. Be a girl everyone wants to be a round." He laughed, and put his hand on her shoulder. "Though you know what's funny? I think we've got another friend nearby.." He turned to the corner behind which Ken was hiding.
Eliza leaped to her feet as Ken rounded the corner. "Ken?! The hell?! I thought you were in detention!"
"Hey, you threw the first punch, babe," Ken grinned. "Detention for me just didn't seem fair."
"First puch, my ass. You were the one who kept stabbing me, provoking me."
"Should've taken the high road, babe."
"Quit calling me babe, asshole." Wait a minute. She was doing it again, wasn't she? Sinking to his level. Dang, it was like she couldn't take the high road.
It was as if he had sensed Eliza's revelation. "What? Too hard to walk the straight and narrow, babe? Heh, better be careful. If you're too busy watching your feet, someone'll come up from the side and push you off."
Eliza couldn't help but bristle, though she kept her voice level. "Is that a threat?"
"E-eliza.. don't get into a fight, it'll just lead to you being stuck with him in detention.." unforetunately it was obvious that there were no teachers around to bust them if they did fight, and wouldn't care if they were.
"B-better let me take care of him.. I've got a good enough reputation with the staff, i wont get in trouble.." Matt's hands were shaking. It was obvious he didn't like fighting, and this guy looked liek the worst person to fight against. But he wanted to be Eliza's friend, and leading her headfirst into a confrontation was no way of building trust.
He got into a pose, both hands glowing a bright gold. "My name is Matt, though you'll call me Mygdala."
Ken looked Matt over. "I've heard of you. You're that healer who helps out at the nurse's. Heh, what're you going to do? Take care of my papercut?" As he said that, he sliced at Matt's hand between the thumb and forefinger. The phantom pain didn't actually injure him, but it would hurt like a bitch.
Matt flinched at the biting pain, but smiled in response. "Trust me, that's not all I can do.." MAtt's hands glowed briliantly, and his Mutual healing powers manifested, in reverse. Ken was hit with his own pain, manifesting as an actual cut.
"And then, courtesty of mom.." Matt jumped into the air, then fell straight through the floor. In a moment he was behind Ken, and the floor through which Matt entered crumbled. Matt's arms swelled with instant muscle, and an extra pair of arms, bulging with as much strength.
"Son of a bitch!" Ken swore, grabbing his hand. Damn, it really did hurt like a bitch! And then Matt was right behind him... with four arms?! "I hate this fucking school," Ken muttered. Instinctively, he launched himself back away from Matt. But where to go from there? If he attacked Matt with more force, Matt might actually hurt him. There was another option, though...
Eliza was right there, stunned by the sudden fight, and Ken grabbed her. He held her wrists together behind her back with one hand as his other arm wrapped around her pretty little neck. As he did this, he hit Eliza with a debilitating level of pain where... well, where pain should not be. She screamed, but quickly bit her tongue, tears flowing silently. "Cut it out," Ken ordered Matt. "Or Eliza gets it." Jeeze, cliched much? "Just... go back to having two arms, and I'll let her go. Try to help her, and you both get hit with more pain than you could imagine."
Eliza wasn't going down without a fight. Whimpering, she zapping Ken with her electricity. But the attempt was weak. It was entirely possible that she couldn't concentrate with the pain. "Nice try, babe," Ken whispered in her ear, upping the pain for a moment.
"You're bluffing. You know whatever you hit me with will go right back to you.." Matt's eyes drifted to Eliza, who was attempting using her own powers in a fruitless attempt to escape. He wouldn't be hurt, but Eliza wouldn't last long. He sighed.
"Fine.." Matt's extra arms disappeared, and his real arms returned to thier scrawny selves. He looked up sadly at Eliza, but a smirk flashed on his face as he threw a re-muscled fist into the ground. The floor's already weakened state caused it to shatter under the three, revealing the ground a few miles below the school. Mattjumped with immense power and grabbed Eliza, wrenching her from Ken's grip as they fell, ultimately landing on the adjacent ledge.
Eliza squeaked as they fell and automatically clung to Matt when he grabbed her. Which was ridiculous, she could fly. Speaking of flying... It probably wouldn't be the best idea to let Ken plummet to his death. Quickly, Eliza adjusted the air pressure around him, high below and low above, to push him back up through the hole in the school and into the hall. She didn't have to set him down gently, though, and she heard the gratifying sound of him hitting the lockers as she propelled herself and Matt back into the school.
"Please, don't ever do that again," she implored Matt. God, Ken's attack had stopped, but she still hurt. What kind of sick bastard was Ken to even think of hitting her there?
The sick bastard in question was currently standing, pressed against the lockers several meters from the hole in the floor. "The fuck is wrong with you?!" he demanded of Matt. "Were you going to just let me fucking fall?!"
Matt stepped away from Eliza. "You wouldn't have died... just been in a considerable amount of pain. A quick visit to the nurse -and me- and you would have been right as rain!" Matt smiled gleefully in his explanation. Ken was an obvious villain, the kind who really shouldn't be at what was once an all-hero school.
"But at least now you can tell everyone you got whipped by a.. sidekick.."
"Screw the labels!" Ken panted. "Everybody knows personality is the difference between sidekicks and heroes, not powers." Christ, he didn't care what Matt said. Ken didn't have flight or superstrength or healing or anything like that. He could die falling from a normal high rise. He glanced at Eliza. "The difference between heroes and villains, though... The school knows what they're doing there. Never has a graduate been anything different than their class."
Eliza paled slightly, but she didn't flinch. "Get to detention, Ken."
"Yeah, right." But Ken was hauling ass away from Matt. Kid was insane. "Later, babe."
Matt decided not to comment on Ken's remark, he knew anything he said would make it worse. "C'mon. If we dont get slips from the nurse, things'll look suspicious.."
Ken was lying. Plenty of villains had graduated as heroes. Of course, that was before they had separate classes... Eliza shut her eyes against the train of thought, then looked to Matt. "Yeah, we should get passes. Let's go."
The nurse didn't comment on Eliza's second visit, only handed her a second cup of coffee. "Will you be going home now, hon?"
"It would feel like cutting school..." Eliza scowled.
