Satisfied that she was going in the right directions, Alexis tried to calm herself down. It wouldn't do any good to go at Sam this angry, in fact it would only worsen the situation.
"Where'd she go now..."
The brunette paused and looked around the mostly empty halls. All around she could see the tell tale signs on her friend's presence, mostly in the form of the scared or shocked expressions of the remaining students. Nodding to herself, she continued ahead until she reached the Gym.
Odd, the doors are open.
Figuring she might as well start there, she took a deep breath before proceeding in.
"Hi Alexis~" she called from the center of the gym. "Want to have a little fun?"
Electricity hummed across her skin, making her hair stand on end, and her eyes glowed orange with barely-contained nuclear energy.
Sam beamed, her tiny body brimming with excited anger. Her rage had metamorphosed into temporary insanity, a situation that she found herself in often - not that she noticed it at the time. Wes was one of the few people who could turn Sam crazy in under three seconds, and he had done just that.
Alexis narrowed her eyes at Sam, suddenly glad that the gym was empty. With her friend in such a state, who knew what could happen to the other students at the school if they were caught in the crossfire.
"No, Sam, I don't want to do anything with you when you're acting in such a way. How could you allow yourself to behave in such a manner!? Honestly, you let Wes get to you far too easily and now not only are we behind on our project but instead of trying to fix things you throw yourself into a rage and storm out like a child!"
With an angry sigh, the girl continued as she shut the door and began walking closer to her unstable friend.
"Think about how you could harm other people when you fly off the handle next time Sam, you could get in big trouble..."
Grace wrapped an arm around Awa, turning her in the direction of their classroom.
"Why don't we head back to class?" she sighed, swallowing her discomfort. "I'm sure the other kids will have stopped acting so mean by now." she forced a smile.
And Awa's forgotten about that Zenith question... Grace let out an inward sigh of relief. It was one thing to think something that you knew was impossible and irrational, and another thing altogether to have to respond to it out loud.
Awa flushed a little bit, though she was happy that they'd seemed to avoid conflict somehow. She nodded, though she had a break right now and only Grace had class, and offered a weak smile.
"Okay....are you sure you're going to be okay though?"
She didn't want her side-kick to have to deal with people starting more rumors and messing with her when she wasn't around. After a moment, she flushed and spoke up again.
"U-Uhm....Gigi, would you mind if I just hung out in your class during break....? Would you get in trouble if I did that...?"
Grace smiled at Awa, barely hiding her relief that her friend had decided to stay with her.
"No, I wouldn't mind that at all." she said, squeezing Awa's hand in reassurance. "And I'm sure you won't get into trouble," here she scowled in mock jealousy. "All of the teachers here love you. They didn't even know I existed until last week, but you're so smart, how could they want to kick you out?"
Grace tugged Awa back they way they had come, avoiding looking back at the way the Atomic Punk girl and her friend had gone.
Sam did a little backflip on the gymnasium floor, dragging radioactive heat across the boards. The chemically treated court caught fire almost instantly, and she grinned. The maniac look on Sam's face was the sign that she was too far gone into her inherited insanity to hear reason.
She beamed as the electricity sparking from her hair and feet started to blow out the lights, causing shattered glass to rain down around her, instantly melted by her body's pulsing radioactivity.
Covered in molten glass, Sam seemed to glow even brighter orange than normal. And although these types of tantrums were normal for her, the administration had yet to arrive to detain her. Part of her brain weakly registered this fact, before it was crushed by Insane!Sam's need to destroy as much as possible.
Awa smiled a little, happy that her friend seemed at least a little happier as she squeezed her hand back. She was a little worried though, about how her friend had talked about her supposed....popularity, in the school. The brunette flushed and shook her head rapidly as she was tugged along.
"N-No! Don't think like that Gigi...I....I-I mean, I'm not that....p-people don't really notice me so...." She wasn't sure where she was going with this anymore, or why she didn't feel right either. Was it because of the way people were treating her friend now that she felt she didn't deserve even her teachers' favor? Whatever the reason, she suddenly felt horrible inside.
~
One look at her friend and Alexis knew that it would take a lot more than stern words to bring her back. She knew what she'd have to do, it always came down to that, but that didn't mean she had to like it.
Or start off with it off the bat.
"Samantha...." She started slowly, ticked off at this point. "Why don't you calm down before you get expelled huh? We'd be very disappointed in you if you were."
Alexis was skilled in the art of ignoring Sam when she tried to look badass, she found that seeming unimpressed calmed her down faster. Don't feed into the attention she wants and eventually she'll calm down.
Professor Johnson looked over the monitors in the Science lab of the school. With so many students with powers, there were all kinds of monitors in the school to monitor the air levels, and other such important things.
He looked down at one of the radioactive monitors, and noticed that for some strange reason there was a high concentration in the Gym. "Odd.." he muttered to himself and went to investigate, making sure that his lead under suit was in perfect order before he put it on under is regular clothing and went to take a look.
There could only be one student in his recent memory who had the ability to generate such amounts of radioactivity that it would affect the sensors for the school.
I'm not a nazi!... I'm a hamster with food in my cheeks!
Grace squeezed her friend's hand, stopping in the hallway to give Awa a hug.
"I'm fine," she smiled into the hero's brown hair. "I just wanted you to know you wouldn't be in trouble." Grace let go of her friend and flashed a reassuring smile.
"Come on, the period is almost over anyway, let's just go to the library before those interlopers get there." she suggested, almost having forgotten about Zenith and his proposition.
~
Sam tilted her head slightly at Alexis's tone of voice, but continued to grin manically. She spun in a slow circle around the gymnasium, shooting bolts of electricity out at the walls, practically dripping hot energy.
The glass that had turned molten on her skin quickly evaporated away, leaving a coating of sand on the floor at Sam's feet, where the floorboards were melting.
Awa blinked a bit as she felt her sidekick hugging her, but the action was not at all unwelcome. She hurriedly returned the favor, hugging her friend back tightly. Listening to her words, she found herself smiling a little bit too. She'd overreacted again, but at least Grace understood her.
"Thanks Gigi..." She murmured as the hug ended, returning the smile. It didn't make any difference to her whether she went to the library instead of class, and she wasn't about to force Grace to go anywhere she didn't feel welcome....at least not so soon. "Okay..." She consented, walking with the other girl towards her once safe haven.
~
Alexis sighed heavily, her eye twitching slightly as she watched her friend make an ass of herself. Well, not that she'd feel like an ass even after coming to her senses but still. Ass indeed. She was putting off what she needed to do, and if she waited much longer...well....then they'd all be in trouble. With a sigh, the girl shook her head and closed her eyes.
"Little help here?" She grumbled to herself, feeling a little light-headed as her energy seemed to drain from herself.
"Thought you'd never ask." Answered a cockier voice that started in her head but eventually extended to the outside world. Alexis felt weak, and cracked her eyes opened to scowl and glare at the form in front of her. He was about her size with identical hair and eyes, smirking at her. She huffed a bit.
"Feeling a bit greedy today...aren't you...?" She muttered, smiling a little at the other teen's laughter.

Zenith
"What the hell is going on?"
Zenith had since finished his classes and went back to the lab to do some more experimentation. Mixing chemicals together always made him happy and this time he was trying to form a precipitate of Silver Chloride in a small beaker. His main goal was to eventually heat the compound to isolate the Silver and Chlorine, but as he glanced up at the door, he had a feeling that he wasn't going to get that far today.
"Something just doesn't feel right. Sam did seem a little...off...when we met in the hallway, but she always seems off. Still, she better not be doing something stupid."
He sighed and debated whether or not he should get out a bunsen burner to finish what he started or go see if Sam wasn't trying to destroy the school.
Sam giggled like a little girl, filled with a gleeful malice at the wanton destruction of the school's gymnasium. Because she was still turning, it took the petite blonde a moment to notice the newest member of her audience.
She grinned, although part of her brain was startled and tried to get her to stop radiating, Sam ignored it and beamed proudly at the boy.
"Hi Alex!" she bounced like a child finding her favorite toy, but made no move to leave the center of the gym.
"Like what I've done with the place?"
Grace
Grace stole quick glances to the classrooms as they trotted quietly through the corridors, making sure they weren't being followed.
When they finally entered the library, the librarian smiled at the duo and nodded at Grace to indicate it was safe to stay. Grace sighed happily and bounced away from her friend to stroll through the rows of books, greeting them like childhood companions - which they sort of were.
Alexis held her head a moment and let out a long breath. Good, Sam was focusing on Alex more than she was on destroying things...for now. She glanced at her 'clone'....her brother.....as he turned his attention to the petite girl. The male adopted a confident stance as he smirked in Sam's direction.
"Lovely decorating my dear," He drawled out, taking a few bold steps closer to the radioactive girl, "Shame that you'll be wheeled off to the looney room soon, tsktsk." He finished, frowning and shaking his head at Sam.
Awa
Awa stood awkwardly as Grace wandered away from her to flirt with her element. It wasn't that Awa hated books, she rather liked them in fact, it was just that she could never match Grace's enthusiasm. After a moment she began her usual trek to the library's surprisingly extensive manga section, though still keeping an ear out for her best friend. Being half-japanese and having lived in the country for a little while when she was younger, the girl had an interest in those types of comics. That and, well, they were fun to read.
Sam pouted slightly, her frown marring the psychotic smile on her features. She crossed her arms, her hair still sparking currents to the lights, but her irradiated skin ceasing to glow.
"What do you mean, the looney room?" she looked at the young man suspiciously.
Sam's blonde and pink head only reached halfway up to Alex's chest, but she lifted her chin in defiance and glared at him.
Alex seemed to smirk and waggled his eyebrows like he knew something the other girl didn't. He shrugged and placed a strong hand on the girl's shoulder.
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe because of all the damage you're doing to the school. Remember what happened the last time some kids screwed around at school? Right off to detention with all of them." He didn't seem to be intimidated by the glare, as he was used to her spurts of insanity. "Chillax Nike, if you're cool maybe we can still blame the whole thing on Ally-cat over there." He eyed the girl on the floor with a grin, ignoring the scalding look she sent his way.
"Oh frak" is all he could say seeing the affects of radiation and high concentration of energy around the gym. He saw Sam there, he could sense the radiation in the air, and he didn't like it.
"Quite a mess you've made here.. Sam.." he said as he looked around before looking at the girl.
I'm not a nazi!... I'm a hamster with food in my cheeks!
Sam glared at the chemistry teacher, crossing her arms and standing in a fighting position, ready to bolt at any moment. The crazy seemed to drain right out of her as she faced him, but she held her chin high on her tiny frame.
"How do you know it was me?" she questioned, defiance written all over her. "Maybe Alexis had a crazy experiment that went wrong. Maybe it was one of the OTHER radioactive kids."
Sam scowled and stalked over to Alex, clinging to his arm and pouting. She looked like she could be his little sister, hiding from a punishment from their parents. Except for the fact that Sam stood on her tiptoes to kiss Alex on the neck, smirking in Johnson's direction.
She took Alex's hand and towed him toward Alexis, giving him a nod. She smiled sheepishly at her friend on the floor and shrugged.
Alex sent Alexis a smug look at Sam's act of affection, earning him an exaggerated eyeroll from the floored girl. Then, she was being lifted up like a sack of potatoes.
"Oof, Alex..."
She muttered, annoyed at how easy it was to just carry her around. Well, it wasn't like she could move well after all of the energy he'd stolen from her anyway. The boy merely smirked and squeezed the hand Sam had taken hold of.
"Yeah, cut us some slack. We're going, we're going." The largest of the three parroted good naturedly as he attempted to get past the chemistry teacher. Alexis sent Johnson an apologetic look, it was about all she could do in this position.

"Right, one of the other radioactive kids, right, and you just happen to be upon the scene? Not bloody likely." Professor Johnson said as he pulled up a wall by the doors not allowing the students to leave.
"Whether or not you choose to follow the rules is up to you, but I must enforce them." he said with a glare at Alex, "I ask respect from you punk, and that's about all." he said trying to maintain himself.
Professor Johnson began to lessen the amount of oxygen in the air around the boy, and Sam, similar to the peaks of mountains.
"It's possible not all of you were involved, but since it seems all three of you have been found in a location, where school property was vandalized, all three of you must be going to dentition." he said look over at the three students.
