Matt blinked, hard, and he stopped glowing, and the gold on his skin progressiveley darkened into a grayish color.
"Then come on.." He said, his voice normal again, as well. "We don't need to go back to the cafeteria, but I don't think we should stay here." Matt took a guilty look around as people returned to normal, dazed.
This was all her fault in the first place. She shouldn't have been so mean to him. Of that hadn't happened, she never would have been embarrassed. She never would have run away. Or tripped.
She blushed again.
"...all my fault..."
I'm so stupid......Ken wasn't even right. I don't deserve powers at all! All I can do is get embarrassed and run off......but....then why am I a Hero.....
She couldn't figure out the reasoning, but she bitterly thought that they must be wrong. She just wasn't good with people, how was she supposed to save them if she couldn't even stop herself from falling?
Sighing, she kept her gaze firmly on the ground. She couldn't look at Matt now.
Even after Awa had run, Grace had been set in a sort of daze, ignoring everything happening around her.
She floated a few inches off the ground, and a small breeze slowly spun up from her feet to her hair, blowing it out of her face as she pondered again over the more difficult aspects of her powers.
She had distracted herself easily with her best friend, her studies, books, simple squabbles with her brothers, Erik and Wes; but if she let her mind go completely blank, these thoughts always corrupted her.
"Not corruption, Sweetheart..." her mother had told her once, when she had gone through a full week of emptiness.
"It's a gift, your powers manipulating you into what your soul needs to be..." but her mother had passed before she could finish her familial training. So Grace had turned to Sky High, as soon as she had come of age.
Her thoughts flashed away, her brain thrusting them aside to make room for contemplation of more difficult things.
"How does one take the water, the lifeblood, from one's own Vessel to create storms, rage typhoons, bring light back from a drought? Tell me Child. In your Heart, you know the answer."
Grace fought to bring her thoughts back to the surface, attempting to escape the detention that awaited her if she caused a stir.
Not now, Not Now. Not ever in school, never! I can't get kicked out, not before I Learn! No one knows that I do this, no one can see, no, I...
But her thoughts were pushed back, and the empty ponderings filled her mind as her eyes turned a shade of blue that could be only seen as white.
"Grace...? Grace are you alright?" Shivers ran down Eliza's spine at the sight of Grace floating. It seemed as if there was some kind of internal battle raging within her, and that alone was enough to set Eliza on edge. She knew all the damage that could be done in that kind of confusion. Currents of electricity ran across Eliza's skin. If Grace tried to start any shit, Eliza would have to stop her.
Sig looked out the window from the teacher's upstairs lounge and looked down at the school grounds with a coke in his hand. "Well for such a rocky start it would seem that many of the students at this school are doing well together." he said to himself and then he headed down to the main grounds and began to take a few rounds around the school
I'm not a nazi!... I'm a hamster with food in my cheeks!

Zenith
Zenith was still absorbed in his physics book so he hadn’t noticed Awa leave the room and Matt follow her, nor what was happening with Grace at the moment. He turned another page and quickly ate his garlic bread before shoveling another forkful of lasagna into his mouth.
“If only there was a class that delved more into String Theory at this school. It would open up a much greater expanse of insight for the students. And, it would be insanely fun as well.”
As Sneaky Man looked at Eliza from under a table in a dark corner he knew she would be his first victim. He decided to prey on her ideas of romantic dreams to see how they would affect her behavior and alignment. *sneak* As Eliza was leaving the cafeteria Sneaky Man came snuck close enough to her to immerse her in an illusion of a romantic young man searching for acceptance
"C'mon, Awa, buck up. It was.. I should have.. Look, I know you were trying to be nice, but I didn't just outright ignore you.. I just.. I don't like taking things, it's an.. honor thing."
The hairs on the back of Matt's neck stood on end, and shortly after a gust filled the hallway. "Woah.. Awa, I think something might be wrong.." He looked from Awa back towards the cafeteria, then back again, ucertain of his next actions.
Awa sighed, her gaze still firmly planted in the floor.
"......go......."
She decided that it was all her fault in the end, so she couldn't be mad at him. Not like she was anyway, she was just concerned. Now she saw it was a useless effort, he didn't need her helping him.
She would have liked to stay with him, but he obviously had better things to do. She didn't want to keep him from what was important. Still, her stomach clenched painfully anyway.
"...i-it's okay...."
She knew he was caught between babysitting her pitiful pie, and getting to do something useful. She knew his choice already. so she figured the go ahead would at least save him some trouble.
[Alright since I've been gone again, I decided to skip the test, and go straight to the placement- so yeah sorry >.<]
"Alright!" "Pencils down!" Commanded the heroine as she looked sharply at the first years. "Now to begin the power placement!" She looked over her clipboard as she scanned the names. "First up is- Demonika Blackthorne!" She paused then looked at the girl."Please come up to the stage here." She explained as she gestured to the small plat form she stood next to.
"Yeah, I think I'll go.. but maybe Bubbly Balloon would like to come?" He knew she wanted him to stay, and truth be told he wanted to. He was hoping her personality would shift, as it did with most transforming super-heroes, so they could both go, and neither would have a shitty concience.
She wasn't sure of she was ready, but what the heck. Maybe she could clear her mind of all the embarrassment. Wordlessly, she pulled out a small chain. It looked like a boomerang, or maybe a small scythe.
Sighing, she twirled it a few times. Abruptly, her head snapped up and she hollered rather loudly.
"Bubbly....BALLOON!"
She closed her eyes, he smiled lightly as she felt the power rush over her. When she opened them again, she looked determined and confident. As well as much more revealed in her short dress, her hoodie practically drowned her.
"Okay, Bubbly, whatever you say. It feels like the electricity is coming back from the cafeteria. Same with the gusts. It feels like Storm threw up, to tell the truth." He laughed, then abruptly stopped.
"Oh, you probably don't know Storm, she was one of my dad's teachers back in the day. You know, back when creeps like Stryker were running about? Anyways, she wa tall, white hair, kinda hot... and she could control the weather, so she was incredibly strong."
Balloon laughed enthusiastically, eager to hear whatever stories Matt wanted to tell.
"That's interesting. Hmmm....electricity you say? That sounds like someone I know...."
It sounded like Eliza, or maybe Elizabeth, but she couldn't know for sure.
"Hmmm Gusts? That could be Grace, I hope she hasn't gone and gotten herself into trouble!"
It made sense that it was Grace, and that might explain why Eliza would be involved if she was. Balloon giggled a bit, but the childish grin soon faded.
I wonder how long I can keep this up?
She'd be Balloon for as long as it took of course, but Awa knew that she could only be this upbeat for so long.
Demonika could practically feel the pressure in the air. She was as scared as heck, but she was not willing to show it to this whole room of first years for fear of making a fool of herself. So with a deep breath, she calmed her nerves and squared her shoulders.
Luna nudged her gently with encouragement. It's okay, Demonika. Just remember that the fear is only in your head. The others can't see it unless you let them.
Demonika frowned. That doesn't really help me, Luna.
She could almost feel Luna mentally shrug. You want me to be supportive or honest? Make up your mind!
Demonika rolled her eyes. With one last whithering glance at her familiar, Demonika held her chin up and marched solemnly forward to accept her fate.

Dart
Slowly... Dart lumbered quietly to watch the power placement begin. He first thought he'd miss it, but he was hoping for a new villain to replace his old one which had left the school for another, as his villainous parents had turned their attentions elsewhere.
"Ahh... good old power placement. Wonder if anybody will be annoyed at being a minion, most of the evil guys hate it. I'm the exception." Dart said, before carefully watching the procedure.

Huang Wei Li aka Azian Man
Starting in the lunch room few minutes ago:
Li sat at his table away from the other students and gazed over the sea of heads. He chewed his sandwich slowly and his eyes never stopped moving. He noticed many thing happening inside and outside the lunch area such as teachers smoking in the lobby area behind the closed double doors on the opposite side of the far wall and ... Sneaky Man hiding underneath the table three rows down next to the wall.
An uncomfortable feeling began to rise and in his mind's eye Li could tell... something was going to happen... something big... and he didn't want to be around when it did. There was a faint whistle...
Li packed his remaining bottle of water and strolled out into the main area of the school deciding to head to the gym area early. He heard something about power placements and wanted to see what it was all about even if it meant skipping gadgetry 101.

You lost the game over 9000 times. </3 Dick Cheney.
Matt cautiosly entered the carfeteria doors, then shyed towards the wall when he saw Eliza about to get into a fight. Her opponent was floating, looking mindless, while Eliza's powers were already starting to manifest in the form of bolts skittering across her skin.
Matt already elt his assistance would be futile. If they were in Xavier's school, it's obvious these two would be Omega-level, and Mygdala's powers earned him the lowest rank.
Then again, his powers had been developing rather rapidly; he could already tweak the brain a signifigant degree, and the first day wasn't even over. There had to be an outside force working on him.. or maybe it was the school itself. He'd have to look into it later.
Eliza was at a loss. What was happening to Grace? Was this normal for her? Casting her gaze around, she spotted Matt. "Matt," she sighed, relieved that she wasn't alone in this. She gestured for him to come over. "Grace went catatonic and started floating. I don't know if she's about to snap, or if something's wrong with her, or what. I've never seen her do this before."
She was right afterall, she had so hoped she would be wrong as to who was in trouble. It looked to her like Grace had fallen into one of her deep thought phases. She was trying to figure out her powers, but the consequences of doing so in this state were not a good thing.
Slowly, she floated over to Matt and Eliza. She wondered if anyone would really recognize her now that she was in costume, but she didn't much care.
She nodded to Eliza, never hanging her head or stuttering once.
"Yeah, we need to watch out for her. Who knows what she could do when she really loses herself."
She frowned, floating to Grace gently.
"Gigi...? Its me Balloon......Awa......you need to wake up...."
She chanced touching her friend's arm, merely floating with her for comfort.

Eliza was stunned. "That's Awa...?" The change was incredible. Eliza had never really seen a hero change. Her father changed physically when he powered up, but he was always pretty much in Ox mode personality wise.
Eliza wanted to help Grace somehow, and a current ran through the taps on the soles of her shoes, briefly lifting her into the air. But she touched back down with a click. Awa could probably do more good for Grace than Eliza could.

Zenith
“Ah, that was a good lunch,” sighed Zenith as he put his fork down after finishing his lasagna.
He mentally marked the page he was at in the book and put it away. He then looked up to find Eliza, Matt, and Awa surrounding Grace who was floating a few inches above the ground, her features blank as if she was in real deep thought about something. He could see a created wind swirling around her and wondered if he might be able to counteract the wind if it was necessary. Awa had looked like she had changed costume or something, but he wasn’t entirely sure.
Zenith got up from his seat and slowly made his way over to the trio not taking his eyes off of Grace.
“What’s happening to her? Is she okay?” he asked the group.
Eliza bit her lip and glanced at Zenith. "Awa says she's in some kind of coma and is dangerous until she wakes up." Should we be standing so close, then? Pawing the ground unconsciously, she looked back at Grace. Eliza knew she wasn't going to calm down until Grace was back with them, but still, she couldn't even hide her nerves. It was so frustrating.

Zenith
Zenith stared at Grace after Eliza had explained the situation to him before glancing quickly at Awa.
“So that is Awa. I thought it was her, but I wasn’t entirely sure. I had no idea that she could transform like that though. Interesting.”
Turning his attention back to Grace, Zenith could see that she appeared to be in a trance, probably blocking all outside interferences and only concentrating on her inner thoughts. But what was she thinking about that would cause her to do this?
“So, I guess we just wait until she snaps out of it like you said, or at least until Awa wakes her up.”
Grace's head swam, all of her conciousness fighting against her powers' possesion of her mind and body.
Get out. Get out of my head, I can do it myself!
"Oh, my dear, sweet Velliety, you can't do anything without knowledge. Now, don't you want to learn how to make it Rain?"
No. No, you can't just tell me. Let me back into my head you -!
The gusts of wind rushing through the cafeteria suddenly calmed, Velliety's eyes opening without warning.
They were the lightest shade of grey a person would ever see, so close to white that if one wasn't looking closely, they would swear her eyes weren't even there.
"Step back.." Grace's voice whispered from somewhere deep in the recesses of her brain; but Velliety's presence was too strong.
"I can help you make it rain, just like that other boy can, the one in your memories..."
Leave him out of this!
"And your friend, what is her name...? Awa, pretty girl, won't she be so proud..."
And Rain started to pour down on the cafeteria, sending lower classmen scuttling under tables, or out into hallways.
She did, she had an idea of what was happening. Grace never really explained it to her, and she would never let her friend know she had ever noticed anything strange about her. If Grace was warning her to step back she would listen to her side-kick.
"Gigi....?"
Before she could anything else out though, it started pouring in the cafeteria. She was soaked almost immediately, but stayed floating where she was. She wouldn't leave her friend. Opening her palm, she halted the water from pouring over her. She didn't want to risk stopping all the rain with her Boomerang Staff just yet.

Zenith
Zenith continued to watch Grace closely for any signs of a break in concentration or whatever she was really trying to do, even as it started to downpour in the cafeteria. He ignored the steady pitter-patter on his head and knew that he could easily dry himself with a strong gust of wind when this was all over. The rain was cold and he shivered slightly, but didn’t move from his position.
“I can wait this out all day if I have to. C’mon, Grace, snap out of it…”

Azianman
Li felt a disturbance toward the direction he had just left.
"What...?", he turns, "What's going on?".
Jogging back in the direction of the cafeteria, the wind made his hair whip out of shape but the wind suddenly stopped. It wasn't the dangerous feeling he had before, but the sight was odd. The Cafeteria was ... it was raining in the cafeteria.
Li thought, "It must be a fight!", but there were no tell tale signs of a fight. The psychics were still eating, repelling the rain with their powers, the rest of the students were making do or leaving. Only one group stood out. In front of Li there was that girl, she was still there, floating in midair...
"It must be her... but what's the meaning of this?", he thought.
Li wanted to go over to one of the people, they appeared to be her friends, and ask them (telepathy used so much energy, being new to it and all) but the girl... the girl was... in turmoil and he could feel it. "Maybe being anonymous would be better.", he thought as he slid into a closet, "Oh well, I might as well use it."
He began to focus, concentrate on that one anomaly.
You lost the game over 9000 times. </3 Dick Cheney.
Awa blinked, feeling a certain power nearby. She recognised something familiar about it, but never recalled actually feeling the power itself before. Perplexed, she tore her eyes from Grace to look around the room. Whoever it was, they were trying to interfere in something they were probably best not getting involved in.
She didn't see anyone new, and she frowned. She sent her mind out for contact, but didn't exactly expect a response. Afterall, her focus was on Grace.
Eliza screamed with the sudden downpour. Electricity had been running across her skin, and now the unexpected water was shorting out Eliza's power. She couldn't help it. She dove beneath the table to escape the rain. Surges of electricity too powerful for Eliza to handle coursed through her body, racking her with pain. Whimpering, Eliza curled into a ball, her fingers knotting in her hair on either side of her head.
