Arken hoped he could get through the day without answering that question. Then again, he never had the best of luck.
"Well...it's really hard to explain." Arken said.
"I guess the best way to explain it is that I have a sort of... extreme case of multiple personality disorder. I can't exactly get rid of it through normal means, so I had to try... Arcane techniques, if you get my meaning."
He gestured to the floor and said "I was trying to preform a spell to separate me and my counterpart. Unfortunately I got distracted and the spell literally blew up in my face."
He sighed and mumbled "I really don't like explaining my problems. Always ruins the moment."
Arken raised an eyebrow at her last comment. "A shrink wouldn't help, because you couldn't pay a shrink enough money to deal with the other me.."
He then said "Fine. You want to meet him? Let me see if he's awake."
Hey! You in there? he called.
A short moment passed by, then the inner Arken responded with "Yeah, yeah. What the hell do you want?"
Grumpy after I called you a fool, eh? Come on, Buttercup wants to meet you.
"Oh, joy." the inner Arken said sarcastically. "Fine, I'll make an appearance."
Arken did his trademark transformation, and the red-eyed, dark-haired Arken was at the surface.
He raised an eyebrow at Buttercup and said "And so, I finally get the pleasure of being face to face with the girl that my other half is so maaadly in love with. I'd say that it's a pleasure to meet you, but that would be a boldfaced lie."
"Just don't screw around here too much. I can be real nasty when bothered." he said, sneering.
He put on his serious face then called out. "Alright, you had your fun. I'm outta here."
Arken transformed back to his normal self and said "You see? That's why I don't let him out too often. He's got a bit of a bad temper."
Hearing Arken laugh made Buttercup smile even more. She was still curious though, and had more questions.
"So can you, like, hear what he says when you two switch? Can you talk to each other? Maybe it's like Dr. Jeckell and Mr. Hyde!" she was getting very excited to learn all about her interesting *cough*hot*cough* new neighbor.
Stopping for a minute, Buttercup caught on something that the other Arken had said, and smirked. ""Maaadly in love with" hmmm?" she murmured, mostly to herself.
"Dang it..." Blossom growled, watching the girl zoom away. Then she turned to Brick. "I'm sorry. I should have remembered that you were already weak. It's... been a while since I've fought with a team..."
Just as she said this, a breeze blew, causing her hair to softly billow. And fall right into the gashes on her arm. Fuck... This was why she didn't wear her hair in a ponytail anymore. Without a clip to hold it together, it just didn't behave. Sure she could have gotten a new clip after she lost the old one, but she had liked the old one, and when she never found one exactly like it, well, she just never got a new one. Growling, she pulled her hair out of the ponytail and put it back into a bun, wrapping her ribbon around the base.
"I have to go back to my hotel room," Blossom said. "That's where my first aide kit is." Pausing, she eyed Brick. His clothes were muddy, and there were even some oil stains. He didn't smell to great either, like he had been staying in a metal shop. "If you want to, you could come, too. Take a shower, get some food."
Brick caught Blssom's faint emotion of disgust when she caught sight of him, and he looked down to scan himself. He laughed lightly at himself. For once in his life, he actually looked like a wanderer. He patted his shirt, and a small cloud of dust arose.
He sighed, then smiled up at Blossom.
"Alright, Bloss." Brick's hovering faltered, and he found himself falling about two stories, into the cement below. Brick stood, unhurt, and actually laughed in embarrasement. "I won't be flying though.. sorry."
Blossom's heart nearly stopped when she saw Brick fall, but then he stood and her pulse calmed a bit. Dropping a bit more gently next to him, she said, "No, of course not. We can take a cab."
The driver of the car they hailed shot them and their ruffled appearance a questioning look, but money was money, and he took them in. Blossom was grateful for the chance to sit, though the ride didn't last nearly long enough. After they reached the hotel and Blossom's room, Blossom immediately went to her duffel bag and pulled out the first aide kit.
"You can get through the shower if you want," she said to Brick as she cleaned her arm, prepping it for the bandages. "I'll call room service for some food and, like, a toothbrush and stuff for you. I think I saw a sign in the bathroom saying that they provide complimentary toiletries..."
Brick smiled at her, embarrased. "Now if Butch could see me now, he'd probably beat the shit outta me.. Thanks though.." Brick paused for a moment and looked at Blossom's arm, but quickly tore his eyes away and placed his hat on the bedside table. He grabbed a towel and strolled into the restroom, to go about making himself look presentable.
His hat, set too close to the edge, was outwieghed by the contents of it's hidden pocket. It feel to the floor, and the treasured hairclip fell halfway from it's container.
Having caught what Buttercup had said, Arken looked away in embarrassment.
"Er...Don't pay to much attention to what the other me says." He nervously replied. "He's a bit of a joker, you see..."
Arken wasn't too sure why he was acting so nervous about it. The inner Arken liked spewing out sarcastic comments, didn't he? That's all it was, right? It wasn't like Arken was in love with Buttercup...Was he?
Slightly disappointed, Buttercup attempted to hide her hurt by going back to her other questions. "Um.. So, can you two hear each other? Can you communicate at all? This is just so intreaguing to me." she said, trying to curb her enthusiasm as well as hide her disappointment.
She had NO IDEA who Bell could have been though. So guessing a hair color would be...difficult.
Is there anyone that I know that fits........
She knew one person, but who knew if the hair color was the same! It could have been the complete opposite for all she knew. Pondering, Brat bit her lip in deep thought.
Lets see.....I have blonde hair....Berserk has orange....Brute had black.....just like out counterparts.....We had a sister with Brown hair too...but I don't think thats the counterpart.....What could be left? Orange? Green? BLUE? Those seem unlikely with a name like 'Bell'.....maybe it IS the same afterall.....
Deciding to just go for it, Brat hesitantly blurted her answer.
"S-Silvery hair? It's been awhile so I don't remember the exact shade...."
Well, it was either right or wrong now. She braced herself for his response.

tFab arched an eyebrow and eyed the outstretched hand.
"Huh. That was either a lucky guess or maybe she met Bell sometime before. Either way, I still don't think she is Bubbles. I better keep acting like it's her though; I don't know what the hell is going on around here. I feel like I'm in the freakin' Twilight Zone."
tFab then addressed 'Bubbles' after shaking her hand.
"Hmmm, maybe you are familiar with Bell, but just to be sure, what predominant color are her clothes?"
Brat frowned, great, ANOTHER question. This cat was annoying!
Alright....it that was RIGHT then......
"Her clothes are the various shades of grey and white...uhm....predominately white? If I recall correctly...."
The person she knew was GREY, so this world's person should be the lighter color right? She sure hoped so......
"You are a rude cat thing, you know that? You should really not ask so many questions so late at night! Especially when in someone else's house! How untrusting of you that you have to probe someone so late at night."
She stifled another yawn, damn it was late. She just wanted to curl on the floor and cry herself to sleep. But noooooooo there just HAD to be a visitor probing her for answers about someone she never even MET!

tFab widened his eyes.
"Okay, so maybe you do know who Bell is. Alright, that's good to know for future reference."
'Bubbles'' next statement caused tFab to become a little miffed.
"Well, excuse me for checking up on Bell's 'sisters' like she asked me to! I'm doing her a favor here and all she wants to know is how you, Blossom and Buttercup are doing. I had to get verification from you that you do indeed know Bell and are not some kind of imposter. You're not going around town masquerading as Bubbles when you are really someone else, are you?"
tFab created a small fireball in his palm to let this person know that he didn't like to be messed around with.
"See, this is why I said you were RUDE. There are nice ways to go about this, and at a better hour too..."
She yawned again, staring wearily at tFab.
"Yeah, I'm Bubbles alright. Sorry I can't help you out more, but I haven't seen my sisters in around two years.....Been a bit gloomy without them around too...."
She stared at the bed with watery eyes. Oh it looked so comfy right now.......
"Are we done here tFab?"
I wonder if he has a place to go......cat or not I can't leave people out in the street....

tFab narrowed his eyes at 'Bubbles'.
"Yeah, we're done here for now."
He closed his palm, extinguishing the fireball, before he changed back into his cat form. He then turned around and walked back towards the open door. Before he went out into the hallway though, he turned his head around towards 'Bubbles'.
"However, I will be back at a later time. See you around, Bubbles."
And with that, tFab left her apartment and made his way back to the elevator.
Brat shivered. It was a CAT again. Gosh she hated those things.
Guess he has a place to go then. Man was he hostile.......
She stared at her bed again, smiling. She didn't even bother to shut her door, she was that tired. Flinging herself on her bed, all the thoughts and emotions from earlier came back. Before she even hit the pillow, tears had already sprung back, soaking her face.
And now I'm an even bigger liar than before.....
This new stress wasn't helping her. Who knew that trying to start a new live would be so tough? She couldn't do anything right.
I'll have to try harder.....with or without friends at my side.....
Sniffling a bit, she soon found her self dozing off to sleep. She clutched her pillow to her midsection for comfort, whimpering a little in her sleep.
Arken was pretty surprised about how intrigued Buttercup was. It didn't really matter, though. If she enjoyed knowing more about him, Arken was prepared to answer any questions she had.
"Well, yes." He said. "We can communicate with each other if we want to. We can also hear what the other is saying, or see what they're doing if the other allows it."
He smiled slightly and said "Though now I've completely shut my inner self off. I can say or do whatever I please and he won't know anything about it."
Blossom heard the hat fall, but she didn't look until she had finished securing the bandages around her arm. Then, sighing, she turned to pick it up. And froze in her tracks. There was a pocket on the inside of the hat, and partially fallen out of that pocket was her old hair clip. It had been fighting with Brick that she had lost it, but she hadn't guessed that he had actually taken it. Thoughts swirled through her head. Why had he kept it? When she had caught up with him, he had acted nice enough, so did he really still feel for her? Or was it something more sinister - like Hannibal keeping the dogtags of the men who killed his sister - and his behavior earlier really was just an act?
But the fact was that he had it, and he hadn't told her so he didn't want her to know. Starting a fight over it now wouldn't help anyone. Shooting a glance towards the closed door to the bathroom, Blossom picked the hat up and placed it back on the table. Then she sat on her rumpled bed - had put up the sign that morning to keep the maids out because she hated people going through her things - and pulled out her cell phone, speed dialing 1.
"Bhagat," Max picked up.
"Just calling in, sir."
"Did you find your sister?"
How was she going to put this? "Well," she said, turning on CNN and muting the TV. Nothing was burning or exploding, so that was a good sign, but the headline read "Megaville Seeing Double?" and two cell phone videos played next to each other. One was that girl shooting up the officers at the bank, and the other was her fighting Blossom and Brick. "I assume you've seen the news...?"
"Yes." His voice was smooth, but Blossom could practically hear him grinding his molars. "What's going on there, Utonium? I sent you to find Buttercup, and instead you team up with a RowdyRuff, and your evil twin kills nine police officers and injures six."
"Nine and six, sir?" Blossom questioned. "When I was at the scene it was eight and six..."
"I'm looking at the report right now. Nine officers were killed."
What was going on? Blossom made a mental note of the ninthe death, and changed the subject. "Sir, I don't think Brick is here to really cause trouble. He was working with the other red, but that alliance is over now. He said he wasn't trying to hurt anyone, and the reports can verify that."
"...He's with you now, isn't he?"
"Not in the room, sir. I'm sorry-"
"No, don't apologize. If you're keeping an eye on him, and he hasn't tried to hurt you, then he's a better ally than none. But one last thing. You look just like the red that's been tearing up town, and the only reason you haven't been arrested yet, is because I am a legend to the mere law enforcement mortals at the MPD. Try to bring that girl in as soon as possible to clear both of our images."
There was a click as he hung up, and Blossom shut the phone, dropping her hand to the bed as she tilted her head back against the backboard. This had been a lovely day...
Brick wipped down the mirror, trying to get a good look at himself. The mirror kept fogging up again, though, and he was getting frustrated. Any other day, he would've just opened the door and let the fog drift out, but considering he was still in a towel, he was certainly going to avoid that akward situation.
He placed his hands on the edges of the sink, and zoned out, thinking of the past few days. The reds, Butch, Bubbles, and the obvious trouble he had been an accomplice too.
And the old lady.
Brick's head snapped back as his ears picked up the phone conversation in the next room. The man he heard sounded official, and the way he spat his title made Brick tighten, and his fingers cracked the porcelain sink.
So it was a high-in-the-force person with an obvious distaste for him and his brothers. Next, the man pointed out Blossom's evil twin, and Brick scoffed.
"Like it's some sort of Soap." Which was right, the olde Guy mistakes girl for other girl scene was pretty close to what had happened here.
The next thing he heard was Blossom's defense for him, which caught him by suprise. Considering the things he had done in the past, the fact that she would believe him just like that was amazing, especially considering she was Blossom. Smart, tactical, skeptic little Blossom.
Lastly, Brick heard the man's condescending closing statement, both directed at him and Blossom. His tone upset him as he had talked to her, he sounded like he thought of her as nothing more than a little slave..
But it's none of my business..
Brick knew this was true, and he knew if he was ever going to be able to leave again is not to get tangled up with the powerpuffs again.
And yet..
Brick zipped up his still muddy jacket, and pulled some tangles from his hair. He stepped out of the bathroom, where he grabbed his wig and contacts.
"Hey, Bloss? I need to go buy some new clothes. Want to come?" Brick called to her, in as friendly a tone as possible.
There was no way Blossom was letting Brick out of her sight after that conversation with Max. So she accepted the invite. "Yeah, sure." After a quick look at the television, though, she amended, "Give me a couple of minutes to get changed." Only trouble could come from her going out in the same clothes she was wearing on the cell phone camera footage currently being broadcast across the nation.
Digging through her duffle, she found a white, short sleeved button down shirt and a plaid skirt which she quickly gathered up before vanishing into the bathroom to change. The clothes hadn't originally been for a school girl look, but by mixing the outfits around, she had a decent disguise, especially when she pulled her hair into two low braids and added a pair of fashionable sunglasses, the type celebrities wore and coincidentally the only type that actually looked good on her. Overall, it was something that Blossom Utonium - the one the public knew, anyway - would never wear.
"All right," she said, reemerging and joining Brick. "Let's go."

Berserk
Berserk sat down in the center of the park again, disappointed that she had not spotted Brat once. Moreover, Brick wasn't helping her any more, and she was stuck in the same position of boredom she had previously experienced. Only, this was worse than jail. This had become something that shook her very soul.
I wish I could at least see Brat, or know where she is. I want to exact my revenge, but how can I even do that when she is nowhere to be seen, even when I rob a bank. She must be a really bad hero...
Berserk threw an energy ball at the tree near her before pounding the bark in her frustration. But it was no use. Hitting the tree made her feel even worse. It took her blows quite lightly, even though she knew if she really wanted to, she could eviscerate the tree with ease.
Berserk sat and looked at the cheerful city members going about their daily routines.
I feel kinda sorry those police officers had to die. But nobody dares shooting a Powerpunk, especially the TRUE leader...
Screaming, yelling, pain anguish. They wouldn't leave her alone. Cries of horror and suffering from all sides assaulted Bubbles with a slow dragged out moan.
Jolting awake, Bubbles shivered, hugging herself for comfort.
What is it this time?
Looking around, she noticed it was still rather dark out. Not that it mattered to her much though.
The screaming....will it ever end?
She knew she was the only one who could hear it, and it was all she could bear not to scream out in anguish.
Shut up.....don't cry anymore....
She glanced around, a sort of pain grazing her features. There, near the center of the park, was a battered and beaten down tree. Immediately, she knew where the source was coming from.
When will it end.....
She couldn't make it shut up, because using that power would draw attention to herself. Her powers of language had grown so far, yet to her it seemed like a curse.
I can feel it....every dying organism on the planet SCREAMS to me......I want to end all this suffering, end them all if I can't save them.
The question now was, however, who could have done such a thing to the tree without making a huge racket? Eyes peering, she spotted the girl that had been with Brick earlier.
Her huh....shoulda known someone would be back to disturb my peace.....
Settling back into her previous position, she curled herself even tighter on the bench. Try as she might, she could not get the lingering cries of death and sorrow out of her burning head.

When tFab surmised that he was down the hall far enough, he quickly ran around a corner and contemplated what he had just experienced with 'Bubbles'.
"She is not who she says she is...I just know it. Those answers she gave about Bell were just purely guesses and good ones at that. There is a lot more to this person than what I know already and if she is a threat to the Powerpuff Girls, then I intend to find out her plans if she has any.”
tFab blinked.
“Wait a minute…why do I even care? I don’t work for Bell anymore, well, at least not for another three years, but I feel like I should protect them for some reason…”
tFab then snorted and shook his head.
“What am I saying? They are the freakin’ Powerpuff Girls for crying out loud and Bell is one too. I’ve seen what Bell can do firsthand and she is by no means helpless. I’m talking about superheroes here who could easily kick my ass and I’m acting like I am their guardian or something. Geez, get a grip, tFab…”
He then peeked his head around the corner and stared back at the open door to ‘Bubbles’’ apartment.
“I don’t trust her and if she is going around acting like Bubbles, then she could potentially be a threat. Maybe she does know where Blossom and Buttercup are and she’s either trying to protect them from me or someone else or she has them locked up somewhere and is planning to finish them off or she hasn’t even gotten to that stage and is getting ready to capture them. Bah, those last two theories are ridiculous… >.< What I know for sure though is that I am spending the night here and first thing in the morning, I am going to find out who that girl really is.”
tFab made sure that he wasn’t being watched before he silently made his way back to the elevator. He then noticed a large potted plant with dense foliage situated near the doors.
“Hmm, this looks promising…”
After putting his front paws on the lip of the pot and making sure that there would be enough room for him amongst the roots, stems, and leaves, tFab jumped into the pot and settled down on the dry soil before curling up into a ball and drifting off to sleep.
Brick stepped out the front doors of the hotel, and was sassulted by a rather strong wind that nearly blew off his wig. He placed his hand on his head and braced until the draft was over, then patted down the stray hairs. It was chillyer a night than he had expected, he was lucky he grabbed his jacket out of instinct. Looking over at Blossom, wearing a skirt and short sleeved shirt. He almost laughed, but decided to supress it.
He started walking down the sidewalk, pulling his wallet out of his inside shirt pocket. He opened it to find that three of the bills were soaked, leaving him with a total of 20 bucks, which wasn't enough for a new set of clothes.
I'm going to have to use a credit card.. No big deal, I'll just shred it afterwards..
Brick pulled out a card, surveyed it, then placed it in his pocket. He turned to check and see if Blossom was still behind him.
Blossom instantly regretted her choice of clothes. It wasn't that she was cold, years of dealing with her ice breath had built up a fair resistance to the cold, but she was conspicuous. And she was tired. It had been a long day, and she didn't have the energy to pretend to shiver.
She noted Brick's inspection of his wallet and almost offered to chip in for his clothes. He had a credit card, though, so she kept her mouth shut and made a mental note to buy a coat when they got to a store.
"Okay, there's a store nearby that has something decent for now, so I guess we can stop there first.." Brick motioned to a store on the other side of the street. "It's not much, just a thrift stopre, but we can get me something to wear before we head downtown and spurge a little. Maybe get you something warm." Brick snickered.
"I'm suprised, actually, It's not like you to not plan ahead.."
He's right, Blossom thought bitterly. I need sleep... Or coffie... But to Brick, she glared, "I've been stuck in a basement analyzing crime scene evidece for the past two years. Pardon me if my field know-how is a bit off."
