"Alright, Alright.. It was just a little joke.." Brick gave a nervous smile, then leaned against a streetlamp waiting for the light to change.
Just itchin' to fly.. Blossom hasn't changed much after all. Same seriousness, same priorities list, same everything. Then again, here I am making a condescending joke, being impatient, etc, etc.. Guess you never grow out of a Rowdyruff persona..
As soon as the light changed, he grabbed Blossom's wrist and ushered her across the street.

Berserk
"Not so tough now, are you Brat? What happened... lost all your skills? This should be easy!" Berserk said, releasing energy next to the bench, attempting to topple it and make Brat fall on the grass.
"Come on... I want to end you quickly!" Berserk said, charging more energy for a kill. She kept forming it into a needle, ready to strike it as soon as she had fallen onto the floor.
Bubbles' eyes widened as she fell onto the grass. Dozens of little screams echoed in her ears, nearly deafening her. Tears sprang to her eyes, as was habit whenever she heard the screams. She couldn't seem to get over it.
What stuck her most though, was that she had met this girl before, and she STILL thought she was Brat.
How....thick...
Shaking her head, she whimpered slightly. Not only because it was what 'Rini' might do, but because the screams were multiplying. Blinking back a hysteria of her own, she stared at Berserk with wide blue eyes.
"W-what are you t-talking about? My name is Catherine! Rini for short!" Gasping for effect, she pretended to become more frightened for raising her voice.
"I-I have n-no idea who this 'B-Brat' p-person is!"
The screaming in her head was growing more. Why did she have to get this power? Why couldn't she just turn it off? Her vision began to swim, and the image of Berserk in front of her with a needle began to blur. She felt like her ears might be bleeding, and her head felt split open.
They're terrified.....
She couldn't make it go away though. She wasn't good enough to filter out languages yet, so unless she used her other power....she couldn't do a thing.
And Bubbles Utonium hated being useless.
Clutching her head, tears ran freely down her pained face. She promised herself she wouldn't cry again, and here she was doing it anyway. What would HIM think? Her sisters? Buttercup would have called her a baby, Blossom would tell her to grow up. The weren't here now though, and for some reason it made the pain worse.
She had never told them. This side of her power she had never breathed a word of. It happened right around when she hit the age of thirteen. Things had started whispering from nowhere to her around then, but she had paid it no mind at the time. It got worse and worse though, and eventually she would get severely weakened from dealing with it. Criminals ALWAYS took that opportunity to take advantage of her weakness then.
She shivered, remember the incident that had been her turning point. It was a blessing in disguise though, because now she was on the right team. Now she could finally show everybody.

Berserk
"Wait Rini... oh that's right! I remember now! How... foolish of me." Berserk said, before tossing the needle into a tree. The needle syphoned the inner cells of it, and soon the tree exploded in the center, and little energy balls returned to Berserk, rejuvenating her. Berserk discharged some of it, as holding too much energy made her prone to overcharge, which was useful in extreme situations, but not right now...
"Hey there..." Berserk said, before sitting down next to the poor girl. "You know... you should stop being so scared. Even civilians have a chance, the city of Viletown taught me that." she said, recalling the time when the Powerpunk Girls had made the civilians attack the good-guys and refused to do anything because of the over-reliance of their destructive powers by the people.
"Sorry if I mistake you for my stupid, annoying sister, I really want to get that girl... by the way, do you know a girl called Brat?" Berserk asked.
Hopefully, I can retrieve some information from this one. I'll make friends with her... hehehehe!
Immediately, Berserk activated a comfort aura to try to calm down Rini.

Bubbles could feel a calming aura come over her. She sighed, pretending to relax into it. In reality, she was much too far distressed for it to have any real effect on her anymore. Rini however, should be really calm by now.
She could feel it though, more and more screams. They were all coming from where Berserk had seated, and a few more from where she had blasted the tree. Though, those were more of mourning than terror.
Whimpering, she shook her head no. Like hell she was going to say: Yes, and I know you as well! Remember me? Your old enemy?
She would have to be eliminated eventually as well, but she still could gather information. What were the Powerpunks doing in Megaville? And why was the red one so eager to get to her sister?
Gulping in fake fear, she played with her hands.
"U-uhm.....N-no.....I'm s-sorry........And I've never heard of V-Villetown before...."
Making sure to appear more calm, she sucked in a breath. Though it didn't have a huge effect, Bubbles could still feel a bit of comfort from Berserk. Her vision had stopped swimming and she could hear a bit clearer again.

Berserk
"Yeah... I really would like a bit of company after that bastard called Brink left me..." she said. She knew Brick didn't leave her, but it gave a good background story, especially since the other Xites were well known here.
Berserk knew the hotel room Brick had given her was still hers, she HAD the key. And it was the only memory she had of the guy. For some reason, she wanted to hold on to it, as well as the room.
"I'll take you there... follow me!" Berserk said. She almost took off until she realised Rini wouldn't be able to follow her, so she flew back down and began to walk to the park's exit.

Berserk
"Oh nonsense! I told you... I'm lonely... I want some company!" Berserk said, and she kept walking and gestured for Rini to follow.
"Or... better yet... I can fly you... it'll be really quick, okay?" Berserk asked, walking back to where Rini was.
Berserk beamed falsely at Rini for reassurance, and stilled her aura, believing there was no point in wasting more energy for an effect that had already seemed to have taken hold.
Bubbles eyes widened, and her stomach immediately fell. She could tell immediately when the aura was dropped, and was now suffering again. The wailing was following her, and the wildlife was accusing. How dare she ignore their pleas for help. How dare you go with the enemy.
Passing off her hysteria for nervousness, Bubbles wrapped her arms around herself. She sniffled a little bit, eyeing the red Punk wearily.
"F-Fly? B-but last time that happened.....he.....d-dropped me...."
She was making herself sick with this weak scaredy baby routine. Didn't he do this enough two years ago? She wanted to hurl at herself, but she knew that to pass herself off as a weak mortal, she had to play the part well.
Why couldn't my alter ego be more like Buttercup? RRRgh

Berserk
"I promise I won't not drop you... okay. I'm not going to ruin one of my only chances at getting friends." Berserk said, and she tried to sound convincing, until she realised it wasn't a lie, it was completely truthful.
Unfortunately...
"So... what's your last name?" Berserk asked as she bent down so Rini could climb onto her back.

Bubbles relaxed the instant they were in the air. The screams had stopped and now she could finally concentrate. Tightening her grip on Berserk, she pretended to shake, but also put on an awed expression.
"Wow....thanks..."
She was skeptical, but she figured she would try out this whole 'friendship thing'. Who knew what kind of data she could gather now. Or what kind of allies to her cause she could win over eventually.
The wind in her face was refreshingly reassuring. She was happy to be in the air again, even though she wasn't the one doing it. She shifted herself better, so that Berserk would have a bit more balance carrying her.
Burying her face in Berserks unruly flaming hair, she spoke in a tired and small voice.
Brick's eyes had grown distant, and his grip on Blossom's wrist was almost painful, like he wasn't paying attention to what he was doing. What is he thinking about? Blossom wondered, looking up at the RowdyRuff. But she didn't voice her thoughts, and as they entered the store, she laughed, pretending to shiver and said something about leaving her coat at her grandmother's two states over. Casually, she drifted over to one of the racks and combed through it until she found a coat in her size, a black peacoat with a pink lining, then she turned back to see what Brick was doing.

Berserk
"You're welcome..." Berserk said, a bit shocked she could speak courteous language.
Well... considering I pretended to be nice when I first attempted to sabotage Jomo Momo, I think I must have picked up a few tricks...
Berserk opened the door to the hotel and allowed Rini to follow, pointing at her room. The security gaurds were too afraid to react, and the police had run away from the scene, knowing what happened last time officers attempted to mess with her.
Berserk unlocked her room, and showed her the room with the two beds.
"You can sleep in the one on the left!" Berserk beamed.
Brick was quietly following Blossom, hands in his pockets. As Blossom flipped through the coats, Brick's eyes rose to the collection of hats on the top shelf. He frowned, figuring now wouldn't be the best time. He walked away from the shelves and immediately went towards the men's dress shirts. Finding a nice one in red, he held it out in front of him. It was long sleeved, but the material was too thin. He just grabbed a grey and white long sleeved T-shirt, and a pair of black slacks.
When Blossom turned around with her selection, he smiled. "It's very nice, Bloss." Taking it out of her hands and giving her a smirk, he headed up to the checkout. "There's jewelry and whatnot in the back if you want to check those out." He spoke as he walked. He wasn't being nice, he just wanted to freak her a bit.

Bubbles smiled, sad to be out of the air, but glad to stop pretending to be afraid of falling. Getting into an anxious position, she fiddled with her thumbs a bit, bitting her lip.
"Thanks for flying me here...again....you're sure that I can take one? I mean.....I can use the floor if you want...."
She had to admit though, the room did look nice. Berserk was being exceptionally nice, which was unexpected.
Whether she means it now or not doesn't matter. There are many talented actors in manipulation, and I'll bet she's one of them. Stil, even if she does like me, the tables can always turn. Best keep my guard up.
Bitting her lip again, she addressed Berserk once more.
"T-those officers sure didn't bother you...I haven't paid for a room here so I would have thought....."
I wonder what she's done so far? If shes caused alot of trouble, shes going to have to go on my list......

Berserk
"Oh... I payed for the room and the extra security." Berserk lied, hating how observant Rini was. "And what is the point of an extra bed if somebody doesn't sleep in it? Sleep on the bed, the floor is not good for your back." Berserk said. She once was the expert on being healthy in the Powerpunk Girls, but that was a LONG time ago.
"So... what have you been doing here? In Megaville I mean." Berserk said to attempt to generate some conversation. She had already flown over to her bed and laid on it. It had a comfy feel.
Bubbles was surprised that Berserk could be so calm and friendly towards people. First she was offering her a room, then a bed, and now she was pulling out health concers out her ass.
Alright, she's good at this. I'll give her that much. I wonder though...
Smiling nervously, Rini walked over to the bed. Plopping down, she beamed to Berserk.
" Thank you so much! I owe you so much right now...I guess you could call me a wanderer. I was staying with Alan, but I only just got back in myself really..."
She forced a giggle at that, then continued with a bit of curiosity.
" So what are you doing? Are you new here too? You sure are helpful...warning me about the floor...I appreciate that, thank you!"
She really was grateful for Berserk right now, she at least got her off that bench.

Berserk
Thank you huh... those words have never been spoken to me before... I really want to hit her for that... too bad I need to stay in character.
Berserk rubbed a sweat-drop from behind her neck and smiled.
"It's a little hot in here..." Berserk said, before turning back to Rini.
"You're very welcome... and I would say I'm a little new, but I've gotten to know Megaville." Berserk said. What she meant was, you could rely on her to navigate, but she didn't know where all the good coffee shops were.
"Who is this Alan person?" Berserk asked, as a way to pass the time, as well as sap miniscule amounts of information.
She didn't miss the slight hint of hostility that passed through Berserk for a fraction of a second. She grinned inwardly, seems she wasn't as good natured as she put out.
"Hot.......yeah I guess you're right. It IS a bit warm for such a night...."
It was supposed to be pretty cold out, but it was surprisingly warm at the moment. Maybe it was just the room. She shrugged, half shivering/sweating.
"That's great then....I know quite a bit about this place actually. I just got in, but I've stopped here before. It was a surprise to see things changed over time...."
She smiled a bit at that, ironic that perhaps she had changed more than any building or structure here. Thinking, she wondered what she should say about Alan.
"Well.....he's a close friend of mine. He lives in the it the city, but I don't remember how long he has. Heh heh, guess I should remember......but since I travel alot, I don't remember small details like that. I just sorta....pop in! ^^' Its embarrassing to learn a friend has moved away from the new tenant.....but I usually take the risk. Glad he told me he was here BEFORE hand though. Guess I must've annoyed him though, 'cause he kicked me out....."
She giggled a bit, imagining HIM actually daring to kick her out.
Yeah right, but its safer to not be together all the time....
"Well, what about you? You have any friends here? I keep hearing you mention some brat......who is that?"
Of course, she knew who Brat was. But a normal person would have no clue what she was talking about so she had to pretend. She didn't want to seem dumb, but appearing to know too much could lead to her downfall.

Berserk
"She's... a rival if you'd like to call it that..." Berserk said, refraining from using the word 'sister'. She wanted no connection with Brat whatsoever, and she figured Rini would be more interested if she HAD said sister.
"But lately she's been running away..." Berserk said, breathing out powerfully to calm herself. Berserk laid on her bed and tossed her bag onto the same spot she had once placed it.
"And what's worse is... I have a feeling I heard my sister somewhere in these premises." Berserk thought, thinking about the time she had heard Brute's voice in the one of the hotels. Maybe it was this one, she couldn't remember.
"My sister is Brute and she's pretty cool. She tries to act all tough, but she really isn't. I think it's because me and my other sister... err... Breya, always treated her as the youngest even though we were triplets. My dad always thought it was a pain to have children, can you imagine what he was like when he found tat he had three!" Berserk said with a laugh, but sadly, the memories were painful.
The Oppressor wanted weapons, which they certainly were. But unfortunately, they were also human. He was frustrated the Powerpunks could not be controlled completely, and that they need feeding and sleeping breaks. Not like robots and machines and lasers, since those could be menacing 24/7. Too bad none of those were truly successful.
Brute? The baby? That's interesting. I wonder how else they differ from us.....
Putting on a sympathetic face, Bubbles scooted a tad closer to Berserk by getting to the ledge of her bed.
"That's awful! I'll bet you must miss them both so much. There's nothing more important than family. Especially sisters....."
It pained her to say these words. She missed Buttercup so much, she even felt bad about leaving her hyper, bossy sister too. But she couldn't think that way, she had to be prepared to fight them if need be.
"Hmmm, it seems like you care about this rival though. Otherwise, wouldn't you be glad to see her gone?"
Why is he being nice? The complements, the hair clip... Does he still like me...? But that glint in his eyes, he doesn't mean what he's saying. Ugh, how could I have expected a RowdyRuff to have changed. Still, I don't think he's leading me into a trap or anything. I'll stick around and keep an eye on him a bit longer.
Blossom smiled at Brick as the cashier rung up their clothes, "I have plenty of jewelry already, but thanks. Hey, do you think we could go get something to eat? I haven't had dinner yet."
"I suppose, Bloss. What do you feel like having?" Brick pocketed his credit card, and walked to the back room, quickly changing from his muddy jacket and such. "Just nothing too fancy, alright? Things get awkward fast at places like that, at least for me." He laughed a little, then stepped out.

Berserk
"See a rival gone... I don't believe anyone is truly gone until their dead." Berserk said, and the way Rini has said the words had really made Berserk painful. She was about to grip the area of her chest near her heart, but realised it'd get a bit revealing, so she made an accidental and completely involuntary movement before she replaced her hand on the bed.
"And she's so CLOSE... I know she's here. But I cannot find her... and you look a lot like her, although I know you aren't. You are not very much like her. In fact, apart from appearance, you two are very much different. I like having you around, but Brat... GRRRH!" Berserk said, almost wanting to throw a missile at the ceiling to destroy a mocking Brat in her head.
"And family isn't important to me... well, it is... but only for advantages. Families are selfish organizations and compromises for the instinctive act of passing on genetics and human pleasure. Breya and Brute were fun, but now they're away, I don't feel too much resentment. Maybe a little for Brute, because she was really special, but nothing for my father, mother or Breya." she said, almost wanting to spit on the name 'Breya', since she fully knew what Breya was a stand-in for.
Brute... where the hell are you? was the question Berserk kept repeating in her head.
