Taking her arm with his right hand and wrapping his left arm around her shoulders, the strange cat slowly escorted Blossom out of the restaurant, supporting her from falling down before a sleek black car, quite ritzy looking really, pulled up, the driver having the window down, was easily noted as having overly large black sunglasses and a pointed nose, as well as a blue uniform and chauffeur's hat.
The cat opened the back drivers side door, seating Blossom inside before closing it, walking around the car and getting in the back on the other side, crossing his legs and putting his left arm up on the back of the seat. "Just a nice drive around the city Cajun." He said to the driver as he patted Blossom on the shoulder. "Don't worry, you'll snap out of it in a few seconds miss Blossom."
He was right. Blossom was already coming out of it, and the enormity of what she had just done hit her all at once in the form of a memory of her kindergarten class and the kids all singing a song about "Stranger Danger". "Wait a minute," Blossom said, recoiling slightly from the feline. "Who are you? Why am I here? My God, what did you spray me with?"
Katz chuckled slightly at her overreaction, sighing and leaning back relaxingly. "Oh, don't worry, don't worry miss Blossom. It was a harmless perfume designed by a friend of mine. It only lasts a few minutes." He looked over to her, not at all breaking his calm, quaint demeanor.
"My name is Katz. I'm new around here but I heard about you from some former associates. You're an interesting sort." He cracked his neck with a sigh, looking into her eyes. "As for why you're here, that's simple Blossom. I simply wanted to talk with you, and without rousing the suspicion of anyone else. Privacy is so hard to come by nowadays. Really though, I'm not going to do anything." Blinking a few times he fished around in his pocket and pulled out a piece of rainbow colored taffy, handing it to her. "Oh, don't worry Blossom, it isn't drugged. I do make candy you know, and I run a motel in town. Best taffy you've ever tasted I guarantee it."
"Katz..." Blossom scanned the taffy with her supervision to confirm that it wasn't drugged before she tasted it, but it really was the best taffy she'd ever tasted. "Oh, wow, this is good. Thank you. But... what did you want to talk to me about that we couldn't talk about in public?"
Katz quickly pulled a thermos out of his pocket along with a teacup, whipping off the lid and pouring himself some tea as he answered her. "Well you see Blossom, I was told specifically to ask about your sisters. I thought it might be a touchy subject so I thought I'd make things a bit less public." He offered her the cup slowly as he continued. "Oh. And I must say you're looking lovely tonight. Rare to see anyone dressed so conservatively nowadays."
Blossom laughed sheepishly at Katz's comment on her clothes. The schoolgirl look wasn't something she was very comfortable with. "I'm not sure what I could tell you about my sisters, Katz. I haven't seen them in a few years." She did have an idea of where to find Buttercup, though, recalling the address in her mind, but she wasn't going to share that particular tidbit just yet.
Katz sighed just a slight bit, looking back down to his tea. "Unfortunate. I am sorry about that Blossom. I and my friends recently got together and moved here. We're like family, before this we were all off to our own ventures, failing miserably." He was about to take a sip of his tea when he sniffed it, his eyes getting wide all of a sudden.
"Cajun. Window!" The window beside him rolled down immediately and he threw the tea out into an alley as they passed it, a large explosion ensuing shortly after as the window was rolled back up. "I do have to be careful about what thermos I pull out..." He said with a slightly startled look before putting the bottle back into his pocket.
"Regardless miss Blossom. I must apologize to you for my unusual method of meeting you. It wasn't exactly proffessional you know. A proper introduction is in order yes?" He slowly reached down, taking her hand in his...paw...and bringing it to his mouth, kissing the back of it gently before setting it back down. "I'm Katz."
"That tea just exploded..." Blossom said, stunned and looking out the back window at the smoking alley. What startled her more though was when Katz formally introduced himself. He actually kissed the back of her hand! Blossom's immediate reaction was to blush, but that weirded her out even more because, c'mon! He's a cat! "Uhh... It's... nice to meet you, Katz? I'm... Blossom?"
"A pleasure madame." He gave a slight bow, despite being seated. "Well. If you hadn't just been at a pizzeria I'd be less hesitant about asking you this, but are you hungry miss Blossom?" He shifted to a more comfortable position and blinked at her, his tail swishing slightly. "You see, Cajun here is a gourmet. He runs my restaurant, Chez Katz. I'd simply be honored if you'd join me for dinner. That is of course, if you didn't have anything to eat yet."
The driver turned back with a chuckle, a slight soutern accent coming through his voice. "Why you flatter me Katz..." He said quickly before turning back to the road.
"So madame? Would you join me? Everything will be on me of course." He straightened his tie quickly, smoothing out his suit as he waited for her answer, sitting in a very relaxed, nonchalant manner.
"I'm not sure I'm dressed for a gourmet restaurant," Blossom said just as her stomach growled loudly, "...but I haven't actually had anything to eat, yet. Dinner would be lovely, Mr. Katz." Why am I speaking like a Jane Austen character? Ugh, I guess the British thing is rubbing off a bit...
Katz chuckled again at her concern over how she was dressed. "Really Blossom, it hardly matters what you look like. Actually I'd say that while not fancy, your attire is quite flattering of your figure. I can tell it's not your usual choice of clothing either. But, the restaurant closed some hours ago, we'll have the whole place to ourselves anyway."
He stretched a bit, his ear twitching before he settled back into the seat and patted Blossom on the shoulder again. "Don't worry Blossom. Cajun can cook anything you'd like. Not an exaggeration at all. Oh, and don't be shy when ordering, have as much as you'd like."
"Well... Alright, then. Thank you. I feel kinda bad about leaving Brick behind like that, though..." Jeez, what could he be thinking right now about her leaving like that with a cat of all things?
"Ah. I'm sure he'll be fine Blossom." Katz said with another comforting pat of her shoulder. "Calm yourself, relax. Food is digested better when you're in a good mood after all." Soon enough they turned into the driveway of a large brick building, the lights still on inside but the sign turned to closed. "Here we are." Katz got out, going around the car and opening the door for Blossom, extending his hand to help her up.
Blossom took his paw and managed not to trip over her own feet as she stepped out of the car. The way things had been going, it would've been just her luck for that to happen. She nodded her thanks to Katz, and they entered the restaurant. It was beautifully ritz despite the fact that all of the tables were cleared with the chairs stored neatly on top of them. Katz lead Blossom to a table for two in the back, setting the chairs and signaling for some place settings. Figuring that he would stand as long as she did, Blossom took her seat. "This is really beautiful, Katz," she said with wonder as she looked around the restaurant.
"Thank you Blossom. I tried to make it look presentable." Katz replied as Cajun came over and stood by their table. "Anything special you'd like miss?" He asked, the fact he was an orange fox with hugely over sized sunglasses now apparent since he'd changed into a white apron and a chef's hat.
"I already know what Kat's wants for dinner...hehe...chinese tonight Katz...my speciality in that field." Katz almost caught himself drooling at the thought of the meal but quickly regained his composure as he waited for Blossom to order.
Order anything, Katz had said, but Blossom was still a bit uncertain. "Uhm, chicken alfredo, I think." She turned back to Katz. "I feel like this is above and beyond for just wanting to talk."
"Hahaha..." Cajun laughed as he bent down and put his hand on Blossom's back. "Little lady. Katz is an over the top person. Especially when he likes someone..." The fox turned around, chuckling to himself as he went off to the kitchen, the large double doors swinging behind him for a few seconds.
Katz would have been notably blushing had it not been for his red fur preventing that from being seen at the time. "Well then Blossom...would you tell me a bit about yourself?" He said as he leaned forward, his elbows just barely on the table as he knitted his fingers together and rested is chin on them, his tail swishing slowly.
Before Blossom could answer however, Cajun came back out, the smell of delicious food already filling the air simply by his opening the doors. He walked over to their table, a metal tray in his left hand. He took two glasses of ice water from it, setting one in front of each of them before removing two candles from it, folding the tray under his arm and setting the candles on the sides of the table, quickly lighting them with a match before chuckling.
"I thought I'd give you two some proper mood." Katz shot him a bit of a glare, hardly noticeable but regardless it only made Cajun chuckle more as he went back to the kitchen, turning down the lights to a soft glow as he did.
The candles and low light were touches Blossom hadn't been expecting, and she could feel herself flush. "Uhm, tell you about myself..." Blossom took a sip of her water, stalling as she composed herself. "Well... I work for the FBI, now."
"The FBI? Very interesting. I thought you looked like the intelligent sort." He said with a slight smile as he spoke. "I suppose to be polite I should tell you something about myself as well...let's see.." He thought for a second, there really wasn't anything he minded her knowing. "Well, I'm trying to go into multiple businesses here in Megaville with my old friends. I've only been here about a week but it seems like a very nice place over all."
Katz didn't notice, but Cajun had come back with their respective orders while he was talking, and when he finished, the fox started chuckling again. "Yes Katz is finding life here quite enjoyable..." The orange fox said as he set their plated food in front of them and walked to a nearby desk.
"He seems especially fond of the scenery. Most notably the red haired variety..." Katz' ear twitched again, and he was once more thankful for his red fur. Without any further hesitation, Cajun picked up a violin from the desk, sitting on it and looking over at them. "Enjoy." He said simply before starting to play oddly romantic music.
Blossom couldn't help but giggle at Cajun's comments. "That's cool with the businesses," she said to Katz. "So, are we all going to be living in Katzville in a few years if things all go well?" She took a bite of her pasta, and it was incredible. "Wow, Cajun, this is really good!"
Zim chuckled softly to himself as Blossom was intercepted by that fellow. "Well now that makes things easier for now." Zim said thinking to Him that apparently Blossom had returned as well. Zim then headed back to his house to talk to that man on his block about Aku he wanted to learn more.
I'm not a nazi!... I'm a hamster with food in my cheeks!
Katz chuckled at her question, smiling. "If only. But you can always dream, right Blossom?" Katz said before he slowly took a bite of the sweet and sour chicken Cajun had brought him and shuddered involuntarily at the taste before continuing. "Katz and his addiction to chicken..." Cajun mumbled with a chuckle as he played. "Oh, I made sure I paid extra attention to your food little lady. I want everything perfect for someone Katz has taken such an interest in..." He finished the song smoothly, running it into the next without hardly stopping. He tilted his head at the two sitting at the table and smiled. "You two make such a good couple..." He stated, then going silent as Katz nearly choked on the food he was swallowing upon hearing his words, composing himself yet again.
"Well, that's subtle," Blossom chuckled at Cajun's comments. She couldn't keep from smiling as she asked, "Is that really what all this is about, Katz, or is Cajun just being obnoxious?"
Katz' eyes widened and he fell back in his chair at her question. The chair however, was caught by a very large roach in a brown trench coat, who promptly sat it back upright. "Schwick?" Katz said, turning to look at the large insect. "Sublimated Brass aerosol from the Doctor..." The roach quickly handed him a colorful box,the cat opening it to find a dozen roses. "Schwick...this is not sublimated brass aerosol..." The roach looked at the flowers for a second before running off.
"That was Bushwick. He's our delivery bug." Cajun said as he played, making it suddenly more romantic. "He often gets the orders wrong though..." Katz shook his head in agreement before remembering Blossom's question.
"Erm..." He stated bluntly, blushing profusely beneath his fur, so much so that it would even be noticeable over it. "Well...originally no..." He said, carefully picking his words. "But I suppose now...yes." He sighed, then realizing he still had a dozen roses in his hand handed them to blossom out of nowhere.
Blossom took the flowers, stunned. She hadn't actually expected that answer. She had though Cajun was just being obnoxious. "Katz..." she blushed. "Katz, you're so nice and... cool... but we barely know each other. I mean... We just met tonight, and..." Her voice trailed off, and she found herself just staring at the roses in the candlelight. "These are beautiful," she said softly with a small smile.
Katz smiled nervously, slightly relieved by her end reaction. "Blossom...I know this is sudden...oddly so, especially for me. I'm not one who believes in love at first sight...but it seems that said phenomenon is what I am experiencing." Cajun chimed in quickly, never ceasing his music to keep the atmosphere.
"I was trying to be obnoxious, but I saw it miss Blossom. Really though, I'd listen this cat, he's serious. He never believes in love at first sight but from what I can tell, and I can tell a lot about this guy...he really has genuine feelings for you." The fox stated before giving the floor back to Katz as the case would be.
Katz sighed nervously, his ear twitching three times before ceasing. "I'm not sure how to explain it myself Blossom. I wasn't going to say anything if you hadn't asked but...I don't know, I just feel that there's something between us. A feeling of some sort...very sudden but...there...do you know what I mean?"
Hold up, Blossom, she thought. Katz drugged and abducted you. You don't know him. He's a cat. Think about what you're doing here.
Blossom looked into Katz's deep purple eyes and felt what she imagined Katz was feeling as well. "I... do... know what you mean... But we still don't really know each other that well... Maybe... maybe just friends at first...?"
"Of course. Of course. I understand completely. I'd never dream of making you uncomfortable miss Blossom. We can take it as slow as you like." Katz suddenly blinked, slumping into his chair unconscious. Cajun walked over and stopped playing suddenly. "Well little lady. I just knocked Katz out for a few seconds. Little something in his chicken...but I'd just like to tell you that, what Katz did to get you here...well he did it for a good cause. He was extremely interested in meeting you but if you saw a talking bipedal cat, would you go with it for a chat? If you get my point of course."
Katz shook himself awake a minute later, blinking and wondering what exactly happened. He shrugged it off and looked over at Blossom. "Blossom. I really don't mind your proposition at all. I was wondering though...would you be so kind as to go out with me tonight? Oh...and don't worry, I won't be drugging you...or kidnapping you...etcetera." He chuckled a bit at the thought before reaching into his pocket. "Oh...and before you answer, I want you to have this." At that he pulled a small ring made of delicately laced ruby from his pocket, handing it to her. "I don't know why, but I feel compelled to give you this."
The ring, like everything else associated with Katz, was exquisite. But... "I can't accept that now, Katz," Blossom said, feeling a bit sad herself at the rejection. "Maybe later, but not now. I would like to go out with you, though."
Zim finally reached his block, it didn't seem to take that long since Gir finally left the GPS chip in his brain instead of replacing it with a cupcake like he had numerous times before. Zim knocked on the door of the old man, who opened the door after a while and asked Zim what he wanted. "What I want to know good sir is more about this Aku person." Zim said with a straight face
The old mans face let on a surprise look and he let the boy in and then shut and locked the door. "Why is it.. that you wish to know about the abomination?" he asked Zim
"For my own reasons which I might share with you Jak, if that is your real name." Zim said raising an eyebrow.
I'm not a nazi!... I'm a hamster with food in my cheeks!
