Berserk

"Don't worry if there is a spy... he or she'll be easy to take down. I doubt anybody would want to spy on us." Berserk said.

"Of course... if you're afraid, I can take you home... they're more likely to be after me than you." Berserk explained. She kept scanning around and trying to listen for some sound, but then she thought she heard her sister.

"WHY DO I KEEP THINKING I HEAR MY SISTER?" Berserk exclaimed, but then she was embarassed when she remembered Rini was in the room.

"Sorry... I just thought I heard her..." she said, blushing.

Dr. Brisbane? Blossom didn't recognize the name. The records say Wakeman's a small time inventor, a new text from Jules read. Most major accomplishment: creation of XJ9, a superhero robot girl. Nothing in the database about a Black Eden.

Blossom responded. Well, Brick just mentioned a Dr. Brisbane. Anything there about him?

Bubbles stared at Berserk, almost...concerned.

I wonder what happened to make her so skittish.....

Shaking the thought away, Rini shook her head slightly.

"No...like I said before, there would be no place to drop me off at. Heh heh....><"

Frowning, Bubbles figured she knew who she was talking about. But Rini would pobably ask, so she did.

"Your sister? Uhm....Brute?"

Zim finished the computer scan about three hours later. He turned and looked at the clock.

"Hmm only about 1 PM. Oh well I still have four hours. Though it would appear that GIR did suffer some minor electrical issues with that blast. The computer doesn't seem to be too worried about it right now. But I should look into it." Zim said as he began to work on GIR to see what he could do about the switching of modes.

Brick drummed his fingers against the table, watching the old-timey clock set above them. He was eager to get to Zim again, yet he couldn't be too excited because he had to go with Blossom, who won't let him do anything to Zim. Bunny happily patted her stomach and sighed, she hadn't a good breakfast in a while. She readjusted her glasses and wiped them with a table napkin, then set her head on the table.
"I guess I'll just sleep till we go meet him, then.." She said, dazed.

"Yeah... Brute. I don't know why... normally I can feel like a void when she's VERY close. But I keep thinking I hear her." Berserk said, impatiently pacing up and down in the room. She looked out the window for a while before turning back to Rini.

"I'm probably more lonely than I thought..." Berserk said quietly, sitting down next to Rini.

"So... what do you want to do today, best friend?" Berserk asked.

Bubbles

Bubbles stared at her, a bit confused.

She really isn't behaving how I would expect....she's lonely? That's so....NO! I can't start to care now. I've worked so hard to remain indifferent! And she's an ENEMY! Don't lose site of your mission Bubbles. When the time comes, you WILL have to kill her.

Resolving herself to that, she nodded to her self inwardly. Yes, she wouldn't be shaken by whatever the red head decided to do.

"...best friend?"

She froze, hearing that uttered from the red punk's mouth. Her mouth went dry, and she licked her lips in her anxiousness.

Best friend? I'm her best friend now?

Her heart felt a bit strange at the news, she was almost...happy to have a friend. But Bubbles knew it couldn't be that.

Probably indegestion...

Fidgetting nervously, Rini widened her eyes and gaped.

"B-best friend? I-I am?"

Berserk

"Yeah... I really don't have many friends, and there's been nothing but good things happening since I found you on the bench! I'm so happy! You are my best friend, and my only friend..."

Berserk had realised that she wasn't lying anymore. It was great to have company like Rini, and she hadn't had such luck before. But she knew at heart she was still evil.

I will always be evil... it's my job. Doesn't mean I can't go and do a bit of good here and there. I'm a Powerpunk, that's how things work.

(Since Zim skipped forward to 1300)

Blossom dropped down on a bench in the shade of a large oak tree in the park. Jules hadn't called or texted her back since she messaged him earlier that morning, and frankly, she was starting to worry. Frowning, she held her cell phone almost too tightly as she looked up at the early afternoon sun.

[Nekoman]

Brick stood next to her, somewhat annoyed but also amused at his hat; the wind kept trying to blow it off. He kept one of his hands on it, then sat down by the tree to block the wind. Bunny plopped herself down on the grass next to him, still half-asleep.
"I don't get how you can be sleepy with this sun beating down on you." Brick said, tucking his ponytail into his hat.
"When you've lived the way I have, you get used to it."
"Oh really? Cause, see, when I was traveling, I could always afford rooms at fancy hotels."
"Oh, be quiet."

Bubbles

Bubbles was beyond shocked at this news.

The fact that she openly admits it.....I thought she was more of a villian than this. More like Blossom....holding emotions back. But she seems pretty truthful. What a.....hypocrite. She's supposed to be evil, and chasing her sister Brat. Reason still unknown, but regardless of that she's not behaving like a villain right now. I thought they were all supposed to be the evilest girls around.....then again, who am I to talk....

Rini smiled at Berserk, her shaking pausing.

"Really? That's so...unexpected....but welcome! Of course I'll be your friend!"

And then she did something she hadn't done in a long time. She gave Berserk a very warm hug, one of her specialties when she was little. Her hugs could even warm Buttercup when they were little.

"I don't know what to do today....but I'm sure we could find SOMETHING."

Staying close to Berserk might be beneficial to her, afterall, if she found Brute and Brat then she could get information on them too. And who know who else she could get information on.

This might be even easier than I thought, still...I'll need to be very careful after this. She'll notice if birds are constantly dying around me....

"Well... I'm a little hungry, so why don't we go to some pizza place? I'll buy if you want..." Berserk said, but when she had searched in her pocket, there was no money. Drat!

"Oh darn, no money on me... I guess I might have to withdraw some from the bank..." Berserk said, and she felt she knew what she had to do.

"I'll fly there and back before you know it okay?" Berserk asked, ready to fly out of the window.

"Hmm well now he won't seem to stay in a switch mode. At least right now I can seem to keep him in relavitely dumb mode." Zim said as he reactivated Gir.

"Well only about another 3 hours now." Zim said getting ready to go since he doubted Brick would actually be peaceful so he had better make sure that his device of his still worked.

Bubbles narrowed her eyes for a brief second, knowing exactly what that sentence meant.

Contrary to what my sisters would have believed, I am NOT stupid. She's going to go rob a bank now. I'm supposed to destroy all villains, so should I really let her?

Checking her pockets, she fished out a ruby red card, the size and shape of a credit card. HIM had left this for her, just in case she needed money.

"Oh.....well....I could pay....you know?"

Can't believe I'm going to do this....eh, it's HIM's money so I guess its fine. Screw HIM.

Blossom's phone buzzed, but it wasn't a text, it was a call. "Utonium," she answered flipping it open.

"PowerPuff." It was Jules on the other end, and he had dropped his normal gay, happy-go-lucky attitude. He was all business now. "I'm at the Megaville airport. Where are you?"

The airport? "The park. Why are you here?"

"We'll talk in person. I'll be there in a half-hour." He hung up and Blossom was left holding a silent phone. What was going on?

(I'll be posting a CS for Jules in a bit. He's an NPC, so people besides me should know what he's like.)

"So, you are going to tell me who that was, and what they said." Brick said gruffly, trying to be bossy. Bunny simply nodded, sitting up to look at Blossom.

"Oh... okay... thanks Rini!" Berserk said, glad Rini had some money.

"I'll pay you back later I swear..." Berserk promised. She knew she'd have to leave the hotel room now, the hotel staff were probably getting really annoyed by now.

"Let's go!" Berserk said cheerfully, grabbing her bag and stuff.

Oh... that's right... I fell asleep in my normal clothes... that's why their dirty.

Somehow, Bubbles really doubted that she ever would. But that was okay, she had no intention of paying HIM back either.

"U-uhm....so where are we going?"

She realized that she should be getting over her nervousness as Rini, she she was going to keep her stuttering to a minimum. Thinking, she realized they might be going to the Pizzeria she was in earlier. Quietly, she voiced her thoughts.

"I know of a nice Pizzeria.....I went there yesterday with Alan. We met that guy that tried to throw me over there too..."

She was nervous, as if remembering the small incident was a traumatic memory for her already. She shivered for effect.

"It was Jules," Blossom told Bunny and Brick, "one of my bosses. He's here in Megaville for some reason. Said he'd be here in a few minutes, but he wouldn't say why over the phone."

HIM looked around the city. He had been bored for quite some time. He thought it would be best to contact some of his old 'chums.'

"Bubbles, tell me how things have been going on your end?"

Aku looked down from a roof top. Jack was in this city, he was sure. When he hunted down that Samurai, revenge would be his.

Bubbles heard HIM talking to her in her head and sighed. She was wondering when she'd be getting an 'inspection'.

Hey HIM, I'm with an old 'friend' right now. Don't bother showing up, I told her that 'Alan' had kicked me out. Haha, you unless you want to apologize, back off. She's a formidable opponent afterall. Best let me handle this one. Other than that, I've collected quite a bit of information. I'll give you more details in a bit, I still don't know where we're going for sure.

She figured that that would satisfy HIM for now, but she knew she'd have to meet up with him later.

Oh! And I used your credit card! KTHNX!

"Well... a pizzeria sounds nice... I'd quite like to go! What kind of food do you buy there?" Berserk asked. She was oblivious to the italian roots of the name, but nevertheless, her hunger drove her slightly mad. Berserk didn't eat too often, but when she did... she ate quite a lot. In fact, she often complained she might get fat from eating too much.

Rini giggled, placing a careful arm on Berserk's shoulder.

"You get Pizza there. Its really very good, if you can stand the servers. There's this one girl there who is really hyperactive."

She shivered one last time, as if replacing the bad memory with the good had gotten her over her tragedy for now. Closing her eyes, she sighed softly.

"So, you know where it is from here?"

She sneered on the inside, how could she not know what a Pizzeria served? But whatever, it was good to know she didn't know everything about her world.

"Hmm... I like Pizza!" Berserk said happily, and smiled, although amidst all of the joy, Berserk lost her footing as she got up and tripped onto the floor.

Picking herself up, she rubbed a leg she had made sore.

"So... when are we going?" Berserk asked, not able to wait for food much longer.

"A hyperactive server? That must mean she serves quite quickly!" Berserk deduced.

"Hey, PowerPuff, RowdyRuff. This is your sister, Blossom?" Jules asked.

Blossom nearly jumped out of her skin. She hadn't even realized the young man casually walking along the park path was Jules until he spoke. "Uh, yeah," Blossom stammered. "Jules, this is Bunny. Bunny, Brick, this Jules, one of my bosses. Why exactly are you here."

"Felt like I needed to check this thing out for myself," he shrugged, sitting down on the bench next to Blossom. His body language was completely relaxed, but his voice and eyes were hard. "I was doing some digging back in DC, and I didn't find anything for Black Eden or much on Brisbane. When I searched both Wakeman and Brisbane, though, this thing called Project Eden came up." He looked at Brick. "It was an old weapons development program for the government. My guess is Black Eden was some kind of clandestine, twisted version of Project Eden. The question now is, who knew about Black Eden? How high up did this thing go?"

Bubbles shrugged, she didn't really know how to get there from here without flying afterall.

"Whenever we're ready I guess. I have no other clothes to change into so.....I guess I'm ready."

She smiled slightly, dressed in her normal attire. It was a bit wrinkly now, so she figured she'd have to get some new clothes eventually.

"I don't know the way from here though....><"

[Nekoman]

"Well, the fact that Zim was part of it, I'm guessing something interplanetary." Brick said, standing. "Also, project Eden was a Bioweapon production, it's how my brothers and me, as well as the robot XJ-9, came about. But Black Eden is the orginization that took us over from there. I don't know what they were planning to do with us, but they worked hard to 'train' us."

"Jenny!" Bunny said, speaking up, "Jenny was Wakeman's daughter!"

"She was a robot, Bunny. An inanimate object can't have a mother or father."

"She was more human than you, that's for sure.." Bunny mumbled under her breath. "Anyways, Jenny was always talking about a Dr. X, and how Ms. Wakeman had to work for him. She told me that I was to get rid of the bio-weapons Brisbane Labs was creating under Project Eden.. How I had to destroy Brick and his brothers."

Brick cringed. His body still ached from the sound beating he had received, and he subtly took a step away from Bunny.

"I'm sorry, Jules, but that's all me or Bunny knows. Perhaps it would be a more worthwhile endeavor to find and interrogate Miss Wakeman herself." Brick said, in a commanding voice.

"Perhaps," Jules nodded absently.

"What about Zim, though?" Blossom asked. "You said he was an FBI agent, Jules, and he was part of Black Eden. I think we should find out what he knows first." She checked her watch 1445. God, this afternoon was taking forever.

[Nekoman]

"If you keep looking at your watch, Bloss, this afternoon is just going to go slower. As it is, we have to wait to get answers, so perhaps we should preoccupy ourselves.. any ideas?" Brick sat down in the grass again.

Blossom tilted her head back and looked up at the sky through the leaves of the tree. She shook her head. "All I have are questions. Right now, I can't stop thinking about the bank and that unaccounted for death."
