It figured that Jonathan wouldn't remember. Both he and Eliza had kept to themselves when they had classes together. "What am I?" Eliza mused. "I'm a Villain now. Third year since I had to start over. It kind of sucks, but at least the classes aren't quite as boring."

Zenith
Zenith half-smiled as he heard Dart refer to him by his shortened name.
“Yeah, it is kinda unfair. They should have an entire Guinness Book of World Records for nothing but superheroes, but until then we have to settle for the ones featuring the regular humans.”
Zenith stopped his reading and grinned at Dart upon remembering what he first said.
“Now, now; that’s not why the first years are here. Just because they’re new doesn’t mean that we can use them as punching bags. And who says that you can’t have any fun as a hero?”
With a wave of his hand, a small cloud then formed over Dart that started to drizzle rain on him.
Barefoot, little Grace stepped quietly into her sanctuary.
The library, where she could be found at any free moment out of class, smelled of rain. She looked around, her curls falling out of the small bun she had attempted earlier that morning.
Figures Awa's late, she thought. Her Hero was supposed to meet her here before classes started, during the first year's placement.
She kept walking, hovering about a half-inch off the ground. She didn't like feeling as short as she was, so she mostly tried to walk on the air she pulled beneath her feet.
As Grace neared a small grouping of chairs, she could finally see why it smelled of precipitation. It seemed that Zenith, a fourth year whom she knew by sight only, had decided to rain on someone's parade.
She sighed and gathered the water into a small orb above his head.
"That isn't a smart thing to do near so many books, Zenith." she said quietly, looking down, but annoyed that anyone could be so careless of her precious, paper-filled friends.

Zenith
Zenith looked toward the source of the person who had said his name and saw a girl hovering a little off the floor. She was looking down like she was trying to hide her eyes from him.
“It was only a drizzle; it’s not like it would be enough to run the ink or even warp the pages.”
He waved his hand again and the cloud over Dart vanished. Zenith tilted his head slightly as he looked at the girl.
“You know, I don’t think that I’ve seen you around here before, although you do look familiar.” He then jerked a thumb at Dart. “The being sitting next to me is Dart and you obviously know my name or else you wouldn’t have said it. So, who might you be?”

"Is it Library Girl?" Dart asked with a sneer, wondering if it was the same girl that every villain in his sector had picked on at least once. He was annoyed with the water on his shell, and it dropped onto the floor.
"Your little rain is no match for my suit, although I've seen what you can do before Zen!" Dart said, complimenting Zenith.
"You know, I think I'm the only minion around here that doesn't hate being a minion. I mean, the villains here can be a little harsh, but I'm not the most obedient bugger anyway. I'm as ruthless, and the only reason I'm a minion is because I work well under orders," Dart said.
Grace blushed, taking the orb of water that had been floating above Zen's head and dropping it onto Dart.
She tossed her hair out of her face, glaring at Zen.
"How do you know that your power wouldn't've gotten out of hand?" she asked, protective of her library peace.
"...and my name is NOT," she rounded on Dart, "Library Girl! It's Grace, and don't you EVER call me that again." she took as offensive a stance as she could manage.
The air around her was heating up and she knew it, so Grace took a deep breath, calming herself before she could warp the bindings of the books.
Hidden behind a large bookcase, a petite teen stared at the scene in front of her. Brunette hair fell over her oddly colored eyes and she bit her lip. She wanted to do something, say something at least, but she was too shy to come out and reveal herself. Her eyes traveled to Grace, and a feeling of protectiveness washed over her. That was her sidekick afterall, she should have her back.
Still, those other fourth years looked awfully intimidating, and she didn't want to cause trouble on her first day back. She fidgeted in her black hoodie, further hiding her face from view.
I should go out and back up Gigi though.....
Taking a deep breath, Awa stepped out from behind the bookcase and headed towards the other three teens.
"H-hey...what's all the ruckus....? Are you guys picking on Gigi.....?"
She sent a small wave to her friend, smiling slightly.

Zenith
Zenith laughed after Grace dropped the water on Dart.
"Haha, nice one! And I know that my power wouldn't have gotten out of hand because I practice with it a lot. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to create the gale force winds and lightning storms that I am known for. And nice name, by the way; reminds me of calmness."
Zenith was about to go back to his reading when he noticed a girl in a black hoodie approaching the table. She seemed slightly nervous and paused occasionally between her sentences.
"No ruckus here as far as I know, except maybe Dart being annoying as usual."
Zenith really wanted to continue reading, but the girl's next question caught his attention.
"Gigi...? Who's Gigi?"
When he saw the girl waving to Grace though, he understood who she was talking about.
"Oh, I get it now."

As her friend walked up behind her, Grace finally began to lose steam. She finally noticed that she was ranting at two fourth years, upperclassmen...
shit..
She mentally facepalmed as she dropped back to the ground. Every time someone gets to close to the damn books, she opens her big mouth, just to provoke...
Zenith.. That kid who hung around on the other side of the library sometimes. What was it he read? Wasn't it...
"...elements and such, right?" she thought out loud.
Rrrgk, me and my big mouth!
"S- sorry.. It's fine Awa, let's just.. go." she turned to her friend, face flushed in embarrassment.
And I can't believe she called me that in front of them! >< Agh!
Awa blinked nervously, holding a hand out to Grace. She knew how her friend got about books, but did she have to pick fights with the fourth years?
Especially those two.....
She didn't know much about them, but she knew they weren't the kind of people you wanted to mess with. She smiled nervously, eyes glancing at the two in question.
"Hey Gigi......get up....its....o-okay....they shouldn't be messing with books right....? We can leave if you want....or did you want me t-to....you know...uh....do something about them....."
She blushed faintly, trying to speak low so she wouldn't be heard by the other two. If her friend told her to deal with those two, she knew she'd do it. Friends were precious to her, so she would even start a fight to make sure they weren't mistreated.
Especially Gigi.....she's my best friend and my sidekick....I won't let them bully her in her own sanctuary......she just needs to say the word...

"Not much of hero are you... if you're going to go for Zen here?" Dart sneered at the two newcomers. "Of course, if you'd like to fight me, you won't be able to save the books, as I'll be using them as ammunition!" Dart said with a laugh, pointing to the back of his shell.
"Anyway... I think I came here for a reason?" Dart said, looking through the book of records simultaneously. "Grab a book and enjoy yourself..."
Grace whirled angrily to face Dart, furious that anyone would insult her Hero like that.
"How. Dare. You. Even threaten to hurt these books one more time and I will rip you to shreds." she growled, now floating a good foot off the ground.
"ANd don't even THINK. That Awa is a wimp. Don't even..." Grace shook, her anger almost consuming her as the air around her began to swirl with coarse heat. Her silver curls whipping away from her face.
Awa frowned at Dart, shaking her head in disappointment. Why couldn't he just be nice? Even Minions could learn to be civil couldn't they? She bit her lip meekly, staring at Grace.
Gigi seems pretty mad.......I don't want her to hurt the books.....
Lifting her head in determinations, the hair flew out of her face and revealed her sparkling eyes. She floated to meet Grace and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Now that's enough Grace, you don't want to cause trouble in your favorite place on the first day do you? They might deserve it, especially Dart, but do you really want to be banned from coming here?"
Her tone had grown more confident, and her eyes stared into Grace sternly. Suddenly, the look softened and she smiled.
"Come on Gigi....lets go read a book or something...."

Zenith
Zenith silently watched the scene unfold before him. Grace was getting increasingly angry at Dart who was acting like an ass as usual while Awa was trying to calm her down. Grace must have thought of the books as more than just reading material or else she wouldn't be getting so worked up over Dart's comments.
"Dart, you're only digging a deeper hole for yourself if you continue talking right now. Just apologize to Grace and Awa so that we can get on with our lives."
Feeling her friend's calming touch on her arm, Grace let the air around her cool as she dropped back to her half-inch hover above the ground.
"R-right, a-ah..." she blushed, having made an idiot of herself yet again in front of the upperclassmen. "S-sorry." she stammered, dropping her head, letting her silver curls cover her face once more.
Struggling to maintain her calm façade, Grace turned to Awa. "He... Water near the books, Awa!" she bit her lip.
Awa breathed a sigh of relief at calming Grace down. At least they wouldn't be getting into too much trouble now.
"Water......?"
Behind her hair, Awa turned her gaze to look at Zenith and Dart. Looking them both over once, she returned her gaze back to Grace. Fidgeting slightly, she nodded in understanding.
Oh....so thats the reason she was upset about the books.....
Nodding once, Awa let go of Grace's arm and turned to face the two Fourth years.
"Hey....Gigi has a point you guys.....try to be more careful around the books....o-okay?"

Dart
"Umm... I'm a minion Zen? We don't apologize unless we're forced, or its towards our villain? You should know that by now..." Dart said.
"But hey... I'll say sorry... Sorry Awa... and sorry Library Girl... I mean Grace..." he said, concealing his face with the book when he realised what he had just said.
Grace Grace lifted her head to glare silently at Dart. She turned on her heel in the air and stormed (haha, Zen, water) to the other side of the library, towards the librarian's desk, where she had to sign in. She had volunteered to be a library aide this year. stupid stupid stupid stupid, I'm sooooo stupid. I shouldn't have gone anywherenear them, now Awa might get in trouble and it'll be my fault. Andjust blurting out what books he reads, smooth Grace, now be probably thinks you're a creepy psycho stalker girl with a crush. Rrrrg!
Awa blinked, looking at Dart stangely. Did a Fourth year, better yet, a MINION, just apologize to them. Smiling slightly, Awa bowed lightly to Dart.
"Apology accepted....have fun reading you two....."
Turning slightly, Awa meekly walked in the direction Grace had stormed off to. She seemed awfully upset, but hopefully she would cheer up after a good book. Before she reached Grace, Awa spotted a cheery looking book and smiled.
Maybe this will cheer Gigi up....
Finally reaching the librarians desk, she waved and handed Grace the book.
"Here Gigi....book for you.....cheer up.....please?"

Grace sighed and let her bare feet touch the ground as she accepted the book from her friend. Awa was really the only person Grace could be down to earth with. Be herself with. That's why they're the best of friends.
She smiled gratefully, her embarrassment over the debacle showing clearly in her stormy blue eyes.
"Thanks Awa, for backing me up back there. That's why you're the Hero." she looked at the book she had been offered. Being There, approriate, she thought, for one who wanted to start over, but not quite her style.
Awa grinned sheepishly, rubbing the back of her head slightly.
"Yeah....barely....."
She glanced at Grace again and frowned. It seemed her friend was still a little bit embarrassed over the who fiasco. Looking around nervously, Awa flung her arms around Grace and squeezed her reassuringly.
"...i-its okay Gigi....they even apologized....I'm sure we can you know......get along now......they won't disrespect......you know....."
She trailed off, losing her point somewhere, but continued to hug Grace.

Grace smiled at her friend, looking cautiously over her shoulder at the two fourth years. She didn't like them near her books, not when they were so careless. By she continued to hug Awa, listening to her best friend lose her train of thought completely.
"Awa, was the placement still going on when you got here?" she asked, pulling out of the hug to ruffle her friends hair.
Grace was always curious about new arrivals, the same people every year would be boring. She smiled, thinking of all the first years who would come to the library and gape at the amazing amount of books in a single place.
Like when I first came in here, running from some minion who thought it would be fun to torment the new sidekicks. she sighed, recalling her tormentor.
Dart, that asshole, bet he doesn't even remember.k
Awa smiled slightly, squeezing Grace one last time before letting go.
"Hmmm....I think so...I wasn't really paying attention.....you know I was already running late......"
She grinned sheepishly at Grace, she knew her friend would forgive her for being late. She pat Grace on the back one last time, smiling.
"Did you wanna....check them out? Maybe we could help out the new sidekicks on the way too......."
She vaguely remembered an incident that happened nearly three years ago today. In fact is was three years ago, Awa smiled in remembrance.
The day I met my best friend.....
Not to say that the events that happened that day were all wonderful. In fact, that day had been really nerve racking, and altogether too much pressure. Her eyes landed on Dart and she shook her head. Really, he hadn't changed much. Thinking back, she remembered the first day coming back to school, the library, and Grace.
"You never know when one might need a friend right......"
She smiled lightly, knowing that Grace would remember what she was talking about as well.
"It wasn't the best day.....but I'm glad it happened anyway Gigi......"
A flash of pink, hands thrown out in front of her, and dark pink orbs blazing. A timid, but determined glare and quivering lips.
"H-hey you bullies! Leave her alone! What did she ever do to you!? I'll have you know that sidekicks are very important and Grace here is no exception! Y-you'd better stop picking on her or you're gonna get it! She's not useless either! In fact, I THINK SHE'S REALLY TALENTED! You all s-should be ashamed of yourselves! Just because you can't see her talent doesn't mean she's useless! In fact, I'd want her as MY sidekick!"
An unsure flip of brunette hair, a questioning gaze.
"....that is....if its okay with her....I'd like to be friends......"
A smile, quiet laughter echoing off the shelves of a near empty library.

Zenith
Zenith frowned as the two girls walked off (well, at least one of them did) to look at some books at the librarian’s desk.
“‘Try to be more careful around the books’…?” he muttered to himself. “I AM careful around the books. Just because I let some water drizzle on them doesn’t mean that they’re ruined.”
He waved his hand and a small gust a wind blew around the books on the table, effectively drying the covers and pages. He then turned to Dart and was about to say something concerning the guy’s apology, but changed his mind.
“Time to get back to reading about the alkali metals then,” he said as he buried his nose in the book.

"Aah... Lithium, Sodium, Potassium, Rubidium, Caesium (or Cesium for the Americans) and Francium..." Dart said, before remembering Zenith's power. Water + Alkali Metal = KABAM!
"Heh... those things would be highly useful for you!" Dart said "Why didn't I think of that?" Dart laughed, looking at the cover of the book.
"I wonder what works well with my cannon..." Dart wondered.
Post by TheTimeSweeper on Mar 30, 2009 22:14:09 GMT -5
Zenith
“Yeeep. You know your elements, Dart. Just be sure that you also know which ones are poisonous and radioactive as well; you don’t want to be spilling Bromine or leaking Radon all over the place. And no, I’m not about to combine water from my powers and an alkali metal; that would be suicide. Unless…I threw an alkali metal into the air and then I had a cloud rain on it… Nope, still suicide, unless the metal was Lithium or Sodium.”
Zenith grinned as he flipped a page to the next chapter in his book entitled, The Atomic Bomb Effects of Francium and Water.
“And as far as what works well with your cannon, I would suggest something that will not trip the sprinkler systems or create a six-foot diameter hole in the ceiling. We don’t want to have a repeat of last year’s fiasco.”
Grace smiled, remembering how her best friend had defended her for the first time.
"The first time anyone had realy defended me." she thought.
For the most part, Grace had fended for herself, taking what she needed, keeping her head down, keeping her powers quiet. When she met Awa, she finally felt what it was like to share problems, share hopes, dreams, achievements.
She hugged her friend again, giggling. "You know I love ya, right? Biffles?"
Awa blushed lightly, hearing Grace happy again was all the thanks she really needed.
"Yeah......I love you too Gigi, Biffles forever!"
Squeezing Grace lightly, Awa eyes the book she had just given to her friend. Now that she thought about it, maybe this book was a bit too intense. Still, she knew her friend could handle.
".....uhmmm.....so what do you want to do?"
She looked around the library for a moment, wondering what Grace had in mind.
Jonathan nodded. As Neutral, he had to take both hero and villain classes. He knew how much better the Villain classes were, considering all Hero classes ever talked about was laws and hygiene. He ran his fingers through his hair and leaned forward. He wondered when the selection was going to start, it had been too long and the students were getting rowdy [Ha!]. Then again, tat was probably thier intention, to make the powers displayed more impressive.
